SSC MTS job profile is notified by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) from time to time for all the Central Ministries and associated departments. The concerned department analyses the notified work and raises their requisition for the post to the Staff Selection Commission, which then includes the required vacancies in the exam notification. SSC MTS 2022 notification was released online on March 22, 2022. The Staff Selection Commission conduct the SSC MTS exam to recruit candidates for the Multi-Tasking Staff (non-technical). This year, the Commission notified the Havaldar posts with the notification.

SSC MTS Eligibility and Age Limit
SSC MTS exam is one of the most popular exams because of its eligibility condition. The SSC MTS job profile does not demand a specialisation in any field or technical specialisations. These are the daily jobs which can be done by anybody. The educational qualification required for the exam is matriculation. SSC MTS age limit is 27 years. SSC MTS Job Profile
As the names of the posts show these are the post belonging to the lowest level of permanent staff. The candidates recruited for these posts do the lowest level of work. The below given functions are taken from the official document released by the Department of Personal and Training (DoPT).
- Physical Maintenance of records of the Section.
- General cleanliness & upkeep of the Sectional Unit.
- Carrying of files & other papers within the building.
- Photocopying, sending of FAX etc.
- Other non-clerical work in the Sectional Unit.
- Assisting in routine office work like diary, despatch etc., including on computer
- Delivering of dak (outside the building).
- Watch & ward duties.
- Opening & closing of rooms.
- Cleaning of rooms.
- Dusting of furniture etc.
- Cleaning of building, fixtures etc
- Work related to his ITI qualifications, if it exists.
- Driving of vehicles, if in possession of valid driving licence.
- Upkeep of parks, lawns, potted plants etc.
- Any other work assigned by the superior authority.
Some of the works above may be obsolete, but the departments add new work as per their priority. The above list of duties is only illustrative and not exhaustive. Ministries and Departments may add to the list, duties of similar nature ordinarily performed by officials at this level.
SSC MTS Promotion and Career Growth
There are very few chances of promotion in the SSC MTS service. The candidates serving in the SSC MTS get a time-bound increment in their salaries. The candidate gets the increment mentioned in the 7th Pay Commission matrices after each three years. Accordingly, other components of the SSC MTS salary are also increased.
