The Staff Selection Commission extended the SSC MTS Havaldar 2024 application dates to August 3, 2024. The SSC MTS Havaldar notification 2024 was released online on its official website - ssc.gov.in on June 27, 2024. The SSC MTS Havaldar recruitment 2024 started with the release of the official notification. The Commission released the SSC MTS Havaldar apply online link with the notification. The candidate must read the official notification to know the complete details about the SSC MTS 2024. The Commission conducted the SSC MTS Havaldar exam 2024 from September 29 to November 14, 2024.

There will be only one paper in the SSC MTS Havaldar exam 2024. The Commission is expected to take around nine months to complete the SSC MTS recruitment 2024.

SSC MTS Recruitment 2024

The Staff Selection Commission released the SSC MTS 2024 notification on its official website - ssc.gov.in. The last date to apply for the SSC MTS 2024 exam was August 3, 2024. The candidates can see below the SSC MTS recruitment stages :

Q:   How many attempts are there in SSC MTS?
A: 

SSC MTS exam is conducted online only as a Computer-Based Exam (CBE). The Commission conducts the SSC MTS exam every year to recruit candidates for the Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS). The Commission does not mention any limit to the number of attempts. The candidates can appear for the exam any number of times till they fulfil the age criteria. The Commission also provide age relaxation to the reserved category candidates.

The SSC MTS 2025 exam will be conducted from October/November 2025.

Q:   How many stages are there in the SSC MTS exam recruitment?
A: 

The Staff Selection Commission changed the SSC MTS exam pattern altogether. The Commission removed the Paper 2 (descriptive) from the selection process. Now there are only two stages in the SSC MTS exam. These are mentioned below:

  • SSC MTS Paper 1
  • PET/PST for Havaldar Posts

The Document Verification process will be carried out by the indenting user department. In addition to above, the Commission changed the SSC MTS Paper 1 exam pattern and removed negative marking from the Numerical and Mathematical Ability and Reasoning Ability and Problem-Solving section.

The official SSC MTS notification notified the age limit criteria for some of the posts. The SSC MTS eligibility is summarised below.

Nationality Condition for SSC MTS Exam

The candidates must be a

  • Citizen of India or a person of Indian Origin
  • The subject of Nepal/Bhutan
  • Tibetan Refugee
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

All candidates other than Indian citizens will be required to take the no-objection certificate from the Government of India before appointment.

Educational Qualifications Mandatory for the SSC MTS Exam

The candidate must have passed the Matriculation exam from any recognised board.

Age limit for SSC MTS exam

The candidate must have attained

(i) Age of 18 years and should not exceed the age of 25 years, as of August 1, 2024 (i.e. candidates born not before 02-01-1999 and not later than 01-01-2006) for MTS and Havaldar in CBN (Department of Revenue).

(ii) Age of 18 years and should not exceed the age of 27 years, as of August 1, 2024 (i.e. candidates born not before 02-01-1997 and not later than 01-01-2006) for Havaldar in CBIC (Department of Revenue) and a few posts of MTS.

Q:   Does SSC MTS Exam have physical test?
A: 

For SSC MTS posts, there is no Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/Physical Standard Test (PST) is required. The PET/PST is required for the candidates who opted for the Havaldar positions. The candidates will be required to appear and qualify in the PET/PST conducted by the designated exam authority. Ministry of Home designate the exam conducting authority for PET/PST.

There is a mandatory PET/PST for the Havaldar Posts. The candidates who opt for the Havaldar Post need to qualify in PET/PST both. The SSC MTS Havaldar PET/PST is conducted by the designated authority.

Q:   What is SSC MTS eligibility?
A: 

The educational qualification required to apply for the SSC MTS 2025 exam is Matriculation only. The candidates who have passed the Class Xth can apply for the exam. The candidates appearing in Class X can also apply for the exam but they need to provide their Class X pass Certificate during the document verification process having date prior to the last date of application. Beside that, the candidates must have attained 18 years of age.

The Commission also added the Havaldar posts in the official SSC MTS notification making it SSC MTS and Havaldar examination. The education qualification required for the Havaldar post is matriculation only.

SSC MTS Applications 2024

The candidates should note that the SSC MTS 2024 application started with the release of the official notification. The candidates will be required to apply online through the SSC MTS apply online link to fill out the application. The Commission provided over one month to fill out the application. The candidates can fill out the SSC MTS application online only. The Commission provided the SSC MTS Havadar application correction facility on August 16 and 17, 2024.

  • Fill all details in the registration form 
  • Click on the Save button
  • Upload scanned images of photo and signature

SSC MTS Exam Pattern 2024

The Commission changed the exam pattern completely last year. The Commission removed SSC MTS paper 2 from the recruitment process along with the Document Verification Stage. The Commission will now conduct the SSC MTS paper 1 only and the PET/PST and DME will be conducted by the designated authority. The candidates must read the official notification to get all the details about the exam. A clear understanding of SSC MTS exam pattern will provide insight into the exam and the candidates will be able to score better. The candidates can see the SSC MTS exam papers below. 

  • SSC MTS Paper 1  It is a computer-based exam that consists of 90 objective questions having a maximum of 270 marks.

SSC MTS Admit Card 2024

Staff Selection Commission releases the official admit card only four days before the exam date of the candidate on its official regional websites. Candidates can download their admit cards by logging in with the required credentials.

The steps to download the admit card are mentioned below:

  • Visit the official website of the commission
  • Click on the Admit Card tab
  • Click on the respective SSC regional website link
  • Click on the admit card link 
  • Log in with the required credentials
  • Download and print the admit card

It may be noted that SSC MTS admit card is a mandatory document to be carried to the allotted test centre. Candidates not having their admit card on the day of the exam might not be allowed to sit for the paper.
