The Staff Selection Commission changed the Tie-Resolution process to clear the Tie cases. This SSC MTS merit list serves as a crucial indicator of a candidate's performance and eligibility to progress to the subsequent stages of the selection process. The Commission conducted the SSC MTS Tier 1 exam in two phases. In Phase 1, the SSC MTS 2023 exam was conducted from May 2 to 19 and in the second phase, the exam was conducted from June 13 to 20.

Factors Determining the SSC MTS Merit List

The Staff Selection Commission conduct the SSC MTS Tier 1 exam online as a Computer-Based Exam (CBE). The Commission do the normalisation of the raw scores of the candidates to arrive at the normalised score. The Commission released the normalised scores through a formula mentioned in the official notification. 

Normalisation provides a level playing field to all the candidates irrespective of the difficulty level of the question paper in multiple shifts.

SSC MTS 2023 Tie-Breaking Resolution

The Staff Selection Commission will also release the Tie-Breaking resolution factors with the SSC MTS result. The Commission will give preference to the candidate who fulfils the given criteria in case of two candidates having equal marks within a category.

(i) Marks in Part-IV (General Awareness) of CBE

(ii) Date of birth i.e. the candidate older in age gets preference

(iii) Alphabetical order of the names

SSC MTS 2023 Merit List will be the final merit list in case the candidate fulfils all the other criteria.
