CUET UG Application Form: Common Mistakes to Avoid

Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) is a national level entrance exam conducted by National Testing Agency for admission to undergraduate programmes at participating universities. To be eligible for admission, candidates have to apply and appear for CUET exam. NTA releases CUET application form in online mode at cuet.nta.nic.in. Candidates who fill and submit their application form by last date receives city slip and admit card, and are able to sit in the exam centre.. Along with registration link, NTA also provides a set of instructions that need to be fulfilled to avoid disqualification.

Students have to check CUET UG information bulletin 2026 for all instructions and details regarding application, and must also ensure they meet course & university-specific CUET eligibility criteria to avoid rejection at further stages of admission. Although NTA opens a correction window to edit details for registered candidates, they must avoid making common mistakes and carefully fill each step of the application form, as not all fields are editable. CUET UG 2026 Application Form: Top Mistakes to Avoid

As CUET participating universities might fetch details added by a candidate in the application form for admission, filling in the correct details is essential to avoid disqualification of candidature. Students filling CUET application form must check below points before registering for CUET.

  1. Add Correct Personal Details. Candidates must add their personal details, such as name, address, parents’ names, etc., as per their official documents and Class 10 & 12 certificates. If there is even a slight change in these details, it may result in the disqualification of application of the candidate during CUET admission process.
  2. Add Accurate Contact Information. NTA shares all relevant notifications through registered contact details. So, candidates are advised to enter personal mobile number and email address.
  3. Upload Proper Category Certificate. If a candidate belongs to a reserved category (SC, ST, OBC, PwD, Kashmiri Migrant, etc.), they must upload their category certificate; otherwise, they will not be able to claim reservation benefits during CUET counselling process.
  4. Upload Quality Photograph and Signature. NTA will not accept blurry photographs and unclear signatures in the application form. Candidates must upload their passport size colored photograph with 80% face visible, including ears, with a white background. This year, there is also Live Photograph uploading option during application.
  5. Select Subjects Based on CUET 2026 Subject Mapping. NTA allows candidates to select maximum five UG subjects in application form. A candidate must check the course-wise subject combination of their target university before making selection in online form. If a candidate fails to appear for subjects as required by a university, they will not be able to participate in its counselling process, even though they score well.
  6. Check CUET Eligibility Criteria. Before filling the registration form, candidates must check CUET UG 2026 eligibility criteria, including educational qualification and age limit, to ensure they are eligible to appear for exam.
  7. Keep a Receipt of Transaction. Candidates must make sure they successfully make the payment of CUET 2026 application fee. Students can pay the fee in online mode, via net banking/ credit card/ debit card/ UPI/ Wallet.

Q:   What is the last date for filling CUET application form?

National Testing Agency re-commenced CUET 2026 registration on February 23, 2026. Soon after the release of the CUET notification, candidates can check the important dates about CUET 2026. The last date for CUET 2026 registration was February 26, 2026 (11.50 PM).

Candidates were required to fill the CUET application form within the given time frame, failing which no request for extension of the CUET registration last date will be entertained. NTA does not provide the window for late fee payment. CUET 2026 application process is in online mode. No physical copies of the CUET application form must be sent to the authorities.

Q:   Can I use my friend's email ID to register for CUET?

No, candidate cannot use the friend's email ID to register for CUET exam. Aspirant must make sure that they use their own email ID to get all the latest updates on online form, correction window, admit card and results. Using the email ID of other person is considered a form of identity fraud.

  • Check registered email ID and phone number for SMS as It includes CUET application form number on successful registration.
  • Check the saved page of CUET application form. or,
  • Candidates may contact at NTA to know their CUET application form number.

After getting the CUET application number, students must ensure to note it somewhere for future login process. CUET application form number is required to login and download the admit card or results when released.

How to Resolve Technical Issues in CUET Online Form 2026?

Many students are facing technical glitches while paying CUET form fee or getting OTP for contact verification. There can be multiple reasons for these issues, such as weak internet connection, heavy traffic on website, slow system processing, weak mobile network, etc. If a candidate faces such issues, they can follow steps below to try and resolve them.

  1. Wait for a few hours and login again to check payment status.
  2. If the issue persists, contact bank or payment gateway to confirm transaction status.
  3. If the transaction status is confirmed and CUET 2026 portal still shows unsuccessful payment, immediately contact CUET UG 2026 helpdesk and share your application number, payment details, transaction reference ID, bank receipt, and other relevant details to get the issue resolved.

For the OTP glitch, candidates are advised to wait for 15-20 minutes and re-send OTP. They must also ensure the entered contact number is accurate and there is network in mobile phone.

Yes, CUET UG 2026 application form has been released. NTA commenced CUET registration 2026 on January 03 at cuet.nta.nic.in. No, Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 2027 registrations have not commenced yet. The registration window will be active at cuet.nta.nic.in. NTA will release the CUET 2027 notification in first week of January. Soon after the release of the CUET official notification, the CUET registration 2027 process will commence online at the official website. Candidates willing to appear for the CUET 2027 exam must complete the application form online. Additionally, before filling application form, candidates must make sure that they have fulfilled the prescribed CUET eligibility criteria to qualify for the entrance exam.

Q:   What is a good score in CUET UG?
A: 

On analysing the CUET UG cut off for the academic year 2025-26, scoring above 700 marks can be considered a good score in CUET UG. Candidates scoring above 700 may fall in the category of 95+ percentile. Candidates can get admission to top central  universities like University of Delhi, Banaras Hindu University, Jawaharlal Nehru University and other universities in the desired course. Given below is the range that is considered good for admission:

  • Very Good Score: 700 and above
  • Good Score: 650 and above

The difficulty level of the CUET exam varies between moderate and tough. Q:   Can I change the CUET exam centre allotted to me?
A: 

On release of the CUET city intimation slip and CUET admit card, no request for change in exam centre will be entertained. Allotment of candidates to the Shift will be based on the options exercised and technical and administrative considerations. CUET 2026 admit cards will be issued for each shift based on the components opted by candidates. No request for change of date/shift will be entertained. Candidates will be alloted the CUET exam centre as per the preferences filled by them during the registartion process. Candidates are advised to fill the CUET application form details carefully. CUET exam is conducted in more than 200 exam centres across India. 

Q:   Is the CUET admit card available offline?
A: 

No, candidates will have to download the CUET UG 2026 admit card online. Candidates have to click on official website and log in with their registration details and download document in PDF format. Students must download the admit card immediately after release and not wait for the last moment. 

Q:   What is the total score in CUET UG?
A: 

CUET UG total marks is 250 Marks for each subject. Candidates can choose up to five CUET subjects. Each subject paper has 50 questions which will total to 250 marks for each subject. For every correct answer, candidate will get 5 marks. The CUET total marks will be uniform for all 37 subjects. The Total CUET subjects marks can vary depending on the number of subjects chosen by candidates.

  • If three CUET subjects chosen: 750 total marks
  • If four CUET subjects chosen: 1000 total marks
  • If five CUET subjects chosen: 1250 total marks
Q:   What is the maximum marks in CUET UG exam?
A: 

The maximum marks in CUET UG exam for each subject is 250 marks. The CUET total marks may vary depending upon the number of subjects opted by candidate. 

  • CUET maximum marks per subject: 250 marks
  • Maximum subjects that can be opted: five subjects
  • Total possible maximum marks: 1250

CUET UG Application Correction Window 2026

National Testing Agency opened CUET correction window from February 09 to February 11, 2026 at cuet.nta.nic.in. This window allowed only registered candidates to make changes in certain fields on their application form. Students must note that only candidates who successfully registered themselves by February 04 and paid online fee by February 07, 2026 (by 11:50 pm) were able to make correction in their forms. The CUET General Test is moderate in difficulty level. The exam is not very difficult if the candidate is prepared well for the exam. CUET General Test assess candidate's basic aptitude, reasoning and general awareness. CUET General Test includes topics like percentages, profit & loss, ratio & proportions, time & work, simple compound & interest and may more topics in class 12th NCERT curriculum.
