Q: You have scored 794 marks out of 800. Was this result expected? Please tell us about your first reaction.
A: I achieved a raw score of 794, and a normalised score of 788. This result was, honestly, a bit surprising for me as well. Though I had put in all that I could, I believe that checking your result is nevertheless a thrilling experience and an extremely motivating one when it is positive. I checked my raw score with my father, and we manually went through all the question keys and the answer keys. While we checked the result, I was excited but also extremely nervous. I still remember the joy that I shared with my family as we went through every single subject, finding no mistakes in any subject except one silly error in English. I was extremely content with my result, and my family was as well. It has now become a core memory to me, one which motivates me to always strive for my best.
NTA has mentioned that CUET UG 2026 syllabus will adhere to NCERT syllabus. Hence, it can be assumed that the NCERT books are enough to cover the syllabus of the CUET UG exam. Candidates must note that, CUET exam tests students' understanding of the subject concepts and ability to apply them in various situations.
Therefore, to prepare well and get a good score, it is advised that students refer to other study materials and books designed for national-level competitive entrance exams. The CUET UG syllabus is similar with the Class 12 Board exam syllabus. The chapters and topics are similar to Class 12 syllabus. Unlike other UG entrance exams, CUET UG syllabus does not include Class 11 syllabus.
Since the CUET UG 2025 syllabus is in line with the Class 12 Board exam syllabus, it can be safely assumed that the NCERT books are enough to clear CUET UG 2025 exam. Candidates must note that, CUET exam tests students' understanding of the concepts and ability to apply them in various situations. Therefore, to prepare well and get a good score, it is advised that students refer to other study materials and books designed for national level competitive entrance exams. The CUET UG syllabus is in tune with the Class 12 Board exam syllabus. The chapters and topics are similar to Class 12 syllabus. Unlike other UG entrance exams, CUET UG syllabus does not include Class 11 syllabus.

Q: Tell us about your family and educational background?
A: Starting with my family, I come from a family brimming with engineers. My father works at Times Internet Ltd as the Security and Change manager, and my brother is currently pursuing his BTech from Delhi Technological University. I have completed my schooling from G D Goenka Public School, in Commerce with Maths. I’m extremely grateful to my teachers as well as my family for continuously helping me with my studies, motivating me, and pushing me to give my best.
Q: How was your board result?
A: I scored a decent 93.2% in my class 12th board exams.

Q: When did you start preparing for CUET Exam? What books did you refer to?
A: I firmly advocate the belief that there is no point in preparing for the CUET examination separately, at least till the Board exams are done. Your preparation must go on in tandem with your board preparation. My utmost priority was to ensure a clear understanding of the fundamentals, emphasising the comprehension of concepts rather than mere memorization. It is imperative, particularly in subjects like mathematics, to engage in extensive practice of diverse question types in order to strengthen your foundation during board exam preparation. I referred solely to my NCERT books for the preparation of subjects like Economics and Business Studies. For accountancy, I used T S Grewal, and for Mathematics I used NCERT as well as NCERT Exemplar.

Q: How much time did you devote to self-study? What do you feel is better, coaching or self-study?
A: I feel that self-study is the best way to go, especially for an examination like CUET. However, I was privileged enough to also take coaching from Toprankers, which helped me a lot in my preparation as well. However, even if you choose to take coaching or not, one must never undermine the importance of self-studying.
I devoted around 6-7 hours of self-study to my CUET preparation every day, I still believe that devoting time must be secondary to your preparation. What is essential is completing the goals that you set for yourself. Plan your journey, and make a written map of how you wish to complete your syllabus, giving ample time to practicing as well.
Q: Which subject is your strong one and which is the weakest? Are NCERT books sufficient for preparations?
A: I believe that my strongest subject would be Mathematics, and my weakest one, which is a part of the Economics syllabus for class 12th,would be Indian Economic Development. This is because I am not good at cramming dates, policies, etc.
Yes, for your preparation, NCERT books are no doubt the best books to use. However, I’d also suggest going for practice books and buying a mock series(you can refer to Toprankers’ Astra mock series) to ensure that your preparation has a solid foundation as well as good practice to go with it. Focus on having a high accuracy, as a raw score of 200/200 would be absolutely essential, as you get a green card from normalisation along with it.

Q: What was your exam day strategy? According to you, what was the toughest and easiest section?
A: On the exam day, I did not pick up a single book or look at any sort of revision sheet. I firmly believe that it is essential for a student to be confident in their preparation as the exam gets closer. Know that you’ve prepared your best and the exam will be exactly what you’ve prepared for. In my first shift (Economics, Business studies, Accountancy), The toughest section for me was business studies. Some of the questions felt a bit tricky. The easiest section in this shift was definitely Accountancy. The questions were pretty trivial, and if one reads the questions properly one would definitely be able to answer with great accuracy. In my second shift, the Toughest section was General Test, which was filled with questions from GK, and the easiest one was English.
Q: Which all universities did you apply for? What was your dream college?
A: I applied to Christ University, NMIMS, Delhi University, as well as IIM Indore and IIM Rohtak. My dream college has always been SRCC, DU, because it is one of the most prestigious institutions for commerce students. The college's distinguished faculty, comprehensive curriculum, and vibrant campus environment make it an ideal choice for aspiring commerce students like me.
Q: What are the courses you are looking forward to?
A- The course I’m most looking forward to is Economic Honours. Being someone exceptionally fond of numbers and mathematics, and a profound interest in Economics, I believe it is a course that can enhance my critical thinking, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities. Furthermore, the course opens doors to diverse career opportunities, including consulting, banking, research, and government roles, making it one of the best courses for anyone aspiring to build a career in these sectors.
Q: To whom do you attribute your successful CUET journey? What would you suggest to future CUET aspirants in terms of preparation, attitude, etc.?
A: I attribute my successful CUET journey to the unwavering support and guidance of my parents. My father was my greatest motivation in my preparation for CUET. He always ensured that I was doing well, giving me invaluable feedback, and never letting my morale go low. He was the one who told me, “Focus on attempting with accuracy” right before the exam, and those were the words that I had in mind while attempting the exam as well. My mother, too, played a pivotal role in ensuring my overall well-being. From preparing nutritious meals to creating a peaceful study environment, her care and nurturing nature kept me physically and mentally fit throughout the journey.
Special thanks to Toprankers, their methodology of comprehensive teaching, well coverage of the CUET syllabus, and mentorship guided me throughout my exam journey.
For future CUET aspirants, I’d suggest you plan extensively, complete your syllabus expeditiously, and practise a substantial amount of MCQ questions as well. Another immensely valuable practice is the creation of personal notes. Endeavor to compile concise notes for each chapter, along with lists of important abbreviations, dates, and the like. Such notes prove exceedingly helpful during the final week of exams, enabling efficient revision and enhancing your objective knowledge, thereby increasing your likelihood of achieving a high score.
The CUET exam itself is not excessively challenging if one has thoroughly studied the NCERT materials and possesses clarity in their understanding of concepts. With these attributes, most of the questions in the exam can be answered with ease. Attaining a raw score of 200/200 represents the best-case scenario, as it minimises the impact of normalisation. In this regard, your accuracy and confidence are crucial. Approaching both the preparation phase and the exam itself with a positive mindset can make a significant difference in your performance. Whenever you feel saturated with your preparation, reach out to your friends and family and they will always help you out.

Candidates can choose upto four exam cities of their choice while filling the CUET application form. NTA will try best to allot the city of examination to the candidates in the order of preference opted by them in their CUET 2026 application form. However, due to administrative/logistic reasons, a different city can be allotted to the candidates. Choice of CUET 2026 centre city will be limited to the State of Permanent Address or State of Present Address only. In case, there are very few candidates from a particular CUET exam centre city, the NTA reserves the right to merge one, two, or more cities.
Candidates will have the oppurtunity to choose the exam city while filling the CUET application form 2026. Candidates must carefully choose the exam cities. No request for change in exam centre will be entertained once the admit cards are issued.
