Prabuddh Dubey, who hails from Lucknow scored 799.64 out of 800 in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG Result 2023, the result of which was announced on July 15. Prabuddh obtained 100 percentile in all the four subjects including English, History, Political Science and Economics. In an interview with Shiksha.com, CUET UG 2023 Topper Prabuddh revealed his secret tips to score 100 percentile, preparation strategy, future plans on higher studies and more. CUET UG Result 2023 was released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and is available for download at the official website of CUET UG i.e., cuet.samarth.ac.in.
Prabuddh Dubey, who scored 799.64 out of 800 in the CUET exam 2023, topped the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) with 100 percentile. Prabuddh, who ranked among toppers list with his consistency and hard work shared his secret to success in an interview with Shiksha.com. Apart from CUET UG preparation strategy, last minute tips, future plans on higher studies, he expressed his desire to be an Economist. Q. You Scored 100 percentile in CUET UG exam, what was your expectation and first reaction?
A. Prabuddh, who made a mark by his outstanding performance in the CUET exam talking about his expectation and first reaction, stated, ‘’I was expecting the marks since I had already calculated my raw score but nevertheless I was very ecstatic and happy about my results.’’
Yes, OBC candidates applying for CUET must upload the OBC-NCL certificate in online CUET application form. The OBC-NCL certificate must be issued in consonance with the latest guidelines of the Government of India. If candidate fail to upload the OBC-NCL certificate (issued on or after 01 April, 2024) at the time of CUET 2025 registration, then in such case they will have to upload a declaration in lieu of OBC-NCl certificate to that effect.
Candidates belonging to reserved categories are admitted under the seats reserved for them in accordance with the rules prescribed by Government of India. However, in the case of central universities admission, the reservation criteria of the respective university shall be applicable.
For admission in Universities through CUET UG 2026, the policies regarding quota, category, relaxation, reservations, qualification, subject combinations, preferences etc of the respective University / Institution shall be applicable. For appearing in CUET exam there is no age limit, however, candidates must check the age criteria (if any) prescribed the university in which candidate is desirous of taking admission.
As the CUET eligibility criteria for admission may be unique for every University, the candidates are advised to visit the University website to which they are applying for their respective course and check the subject mapping criteria and age criteria.
Q. How was your family and friends’ reaction on getting 100 percentile in CUET?
A. Prabuddh, who is from Lucknow said that his parents were really happy with his performance. He said, ‘’They were really happy and proud of me, they took my out and we had gone out after knowing about my results.’’

Q. Tell us something about your family background?
A. Prabuddh revealed, ‘’My father is a General Manager in Punjab National Bank and my mother is an Assistant professor in Amity University Lucknow. She teaches behavioural sciences.’’

Q. After this huge success, what are your next plan?
A. He scored a perfect 100 percentile in all the four subjects. Talking about his future plans on higher studies, he said, ‘’I want to pursue Economics and I wish to become an economist.’’
Go on the official website of university/organaisation. Check the courses offered and eligibility test that they should appear in for admission to desired course. The choice of language/domain subject and General test will depend upon the course and university. Candidates will be able to opt for one or more tests as per the requirement of the course and university from the following sections:
- Section I - 13 Languages
- Section II - 23 Domain Specific Subjects
- Section III - General Test
For admission to the desirous University/Institution, the candidates must appear in CUET 2026 in the Languages and Domain Specific subjects as per the Program-Specific Eligibility for which s (he) is desirous to take admission. For instance, if a candidate wishes to apply for B.Com (Hons.) programe in Delhi University he/she will be required to make the subject combination as :
Combination I: Any one Language from List A + Mathematics/Applied Mathematics + Any two subjects out of which at least one should be from List B1
OR
Combination II: Any one Language from List A + Accountancy/Book Keeping + Any two subjects out of which at least one should be from List B1
Candidates are advised to check CUET programme-specific eligibility criteria before filling the application form, failing which they will not qualify for further admission process.
Yes, it is possible to appear for CUET UG and get admission in college even if candidate gets a compartment in class 12th. However, such candidates will be given provisional admission in colleges. Students must make sure to appear for the compartment exam at given schedule and clear the examination and submit the required documents for verification at college on or before the last date.
Candidate must amke sure to enquire about the details before the final admission. Student must meet the college/university requirement.
Q. What was your preparation strategy as you scored 100 percentile in all the four subject?
A. I just studied for my boards and that was enough to score good marks in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), since it’s not really a very tough exam.
Q. What was your last minute preparation strategy?
A. A few days before CUET I just opened my books and read everything once or twice and made a few notes for the chapters which were deleted from the NCERT for boards.

Q. Elaborate the sectional difficulty level of the exam? Highlight the books you preferred for CUET preparations?
A. The domain subjects were fairly easy, English was personally easy for me but it’s very subjective, if you have a stronghold on the language then it won’t be difficult at all.
Q. Which is your favorite subject? Did you study NCERT for the exam preparations?
A. Economics is my favourite subject, yes I studied from the NCERT but for Economics, I used Sandeep Garg book.

Q. What according to you is better for CUET preparation coaching or self-study?
A. I joined a coaching and it was beneficial for me since I didn’t prepare personally for General Test. My teachers helped a lot in the preparation. General Test is something where one might need some outside help. For domain subjects, it depends on how well you prepared for your board exams and studied throughout the year.
Q. Which universities did you apply for? Which university is your first preference?
A. I had applied for the Delhi University and Stephen’s College is my first preference. I am also going to apply to Jamia Millia Islamia for Economics honours.

To prepare for CUET Mathematics exam effectively, students must ideally give two to three hours practice. Students must focus on previous year qiuestion papers and mock tests to prepare well for exam. Daily practice and consistency will help candidate score 250 marks in exam.

Yes, NCERT is sufficient for conceptual clarity while preparing for CUET exam, but MCQ practice and CUET mock tests are important for scoring high. Students must not only focus on preparation books, they must solve CUET previous year question papers for Mathematics to know important topics or repeat

No, a valid CUET score is accepted for admissions to both BA (Hons) in Liberal Arts & Humanities and the BA (Hons) in Philosophy, Politics & Economics at JSLAH.
In the previous year admissions, CUET was only listed as an accepted exam for the BA (Hons) in Liberal Arts & Humanities admission.

No, candidates who wish receive the Jindal School of Liberal Arts and Humanities BA (Hons) scholarships must provide a valid score in the JSAT. For admission to Delhi University, candidate must have passed or appeared for class 12 examination. There are no minimum marks requirement in class 12 for DU admission through CUET UG. DU may use the class 12 marks or percentage for tie breaking criteria.

The minimum marks for CUET class 12th is prescribed differently for accepting universities. CUET universities like DU and Allahabad University does not prescribe the minimum marks in class 12 for CUET UG. Candidates can apply for CUET score accepting colleges through CUET UG 2025 application form. While filling the application form, candidates will be required to enter the name of the preffered universities and courses in order of preference. On declaration of the CUET results, the scores will be shared with the universities for which candidate has applied. Basis on the score obtained candidate will be shortlisted for the applied course.
