MAH BEd CET 2026: The State Common Entrance Test Cell conducts the BEd entrance exam for education colleges in Maharashtra. What is MAH BEd CET?

The MAH BEd CET is an entrance exam conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell to offer admission to candidates into BEd Courses across the state. The test is of an hour's duration in an online computer-based mode. The MAH BEd question paper will comprise three sections, including Mental Ability, General Knowledge, and Teacher Aptitude.

Candidates can also get admission in other courses like BEd (General & Special) & BEd ELCT, BEd-MEd, and BA BEd, and BSc BEd. The MAH BEd CET exam will be conducted from March 27 to March 29, 2026, March 23, and April 9 for different courses.

MAH BEd CET Eligibility Criteria 2026

A. Candidates from Maharashtra State

i) The Candidate Should be an Indian National.

(ii) They should have passed a Bachelor’s Degree and/or a Master’s Degree. The subjects could be Sciences and Mathematics /Social Sciences (History/ Geography / Economics / Political Sciences / Psychology / Philosophy / Education /Library) / Humanities Sciences (All Languages and Literature) / Commerce. A minimum of 50% marks for UR, and 45% marks in case of Backward Class categories is needed.

OR

(ii) They should have passed a Bachelor’s Degree and/or a Master’s Degree. The subjects in Engineering and Technology / (with Science and Mathematics as a special subjects) / Bachelor’s Degree with the subjects: Management / Engineering / Computers / Law / Information Technology / Agriculture/ BBI / Medical Sciences / All Social Sciences / Fine Art / Performing Art (Music / Dance / Drama, etc.). The minimum 55% marks (Minimum 50% marks in case of Backward Class categories.

B. All India Candidature Candidates:- Other State Candidates :

(i) The candidate should have passed/appeared in any Bachelor’s Degree and/or Master’s Degree. The universities must be incorporated by an act of the Central or State Legislature or declared to be a Deemed University.

(ii) Candidate must score a minimum of 55% of marks for all categories.

C. NRI/OCI/PIO/Foreign National Students/CIWGC Candidature

i) The candidate should have valid NRI/OCI/PIO/Foreign National/CIWGC documents mentioned.

(ii) The candidate should have passed/appeared in any Bachelor’s Degree and/or Master’s Degree. The universities must be incorporated by an act of the Central or State Legislature or declared to be a Deemed University.

(iii) Candidate must score a minimum of 55% of marks for all categories.

Important Note:

  • Aggregate marks mean the Grand Total of Marks obtained by the Candidate at the Degree for which the Class/Grade is awarded by the University
  • In case the candidates are awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would be based on the formula/procedure
    certified by the Board/ University/Institution that has awarded the same. It is obligatory on the part of the candidate to bring the Conversion Certificate from the Board/ University/ Institution.
  • Candidates should fill in the marks as Aggregate marks, considered by the University/Examining body for the Award of Degree/Class and Grade. Some Universities award Class, Grade, and Degree on the basis of All Three Years’ Degree marks. Some Universities award a Degree/Class/Grade based on Second and /Third Year marks taken together. Some Universities have a semester pattern, and the GPA of all semesters is totaled, and the CGPA is shown. The Universities give CGPA to Marks or a %Formula. The candidates should use that to fill in the Correct Marks.
  • If the candidate enters wrong marks and in the college level verification, the admission is rejected for the candidate, the candidate will be responsible for the loss

The process begins once the notification by the State Common Entrance Test Cell is released. After that, all the interested candidates 

Registration 

  • Browse to cetcell.mahacet.org.
  • Click on “New Registration”. Fill in all the required credentials.
    • Name of the Candidate 
    • Contact Details 
    • Email ID 
  • Create your password and security questions.
  • Submit and confirm the details
  • Upload the scanned copies of the required documents.
  • The candidate has to select the “Centre of Examination”.
  • After the completion of the MAH BEd CET 2026 Online Application form, candidates will have to submit the fees online.
  • Save a copy application form and fee receipt.

A Provisional Registration Number and Password will be generated and displayed on the screen. Now, candidates can fill in the Provisional Registration Number and Password to log in and apply for the MAH BEd CET exam.

MAH BEd CET Answer Key 2026

The State Common Entrance Test Cell releases the provisional key within 20-25 days of the exam. For the 2026 session, it is expected to be released in April. During this window of the provisional and final answer key, the candidates will be given an opportunity to raise any valid objections.  Under the candidate's login, there is an objection tracker for grievance addressal. There is a fee of 1000 Rs. for every objection raised. The candidates are advised to raise reasonable objections since it costs money. 

The conducting body verifies all the raised objections.  After validating all the objections, the final answer key will be released on May (tentative).

MAH BEd CET 2026: Normalisation Method

The candidates had been given different sets of questions in every shift and it is quite possible that in spite of all efforts of maintaining equivalence among various question papers, the difficulty level of these question papers administered in different shifts may not be exactly the same. In order to overcome such a situation, Normalization Method will be used for ensuring that candidates are neither benefitted nor disadvantaged due to challenges in MAH BEd exam.

The Percentile Scores will be calculated up to 7 decimal places to avoid bunching effect and reduce ties. The Percentile score of a Candidate is calculated as follows:

(100 * (No. of candidates appeared in the session with raw score ≤ the candidate's score))/ Total number of candidate's in the session.

MAH BEd CET Counselling 2026

Candidates will get shortlisted via the MAH BEd CET 2026 for BEd courses in Maharashtra via the Centralized Admission Process (CAP). The MAH BEd CET Counselling process is conducted online through the official website. Candidates can log in using their registration number to fill out their choice of colleges and pay the counseling fee online. The MAH BEd CET 2026 counselling is conducted in four rounds.

How to Register for BEd Counselling?

Below, you can find how you can register for the counselling process. 

  • The eligible candidates can start with the registration process. They need to enter their application and roll numbers. 
  • Confirm the result. Complete the process by entering the personal details.
  • Candidates will then have to use their login information to access their CAP candidate site after enrolling. Once they have logged in, they will see the dashboard and complete the detailed MAH BEd CET 2026 counseling registration on the dashboard.
  • After filling in this information, they must ensure that they enter all the details carefully, like personal information and academic accomplishments.
  • While uploading the documents, candidates must upload the necessary documents in the prescribed format. Select the colleges and courses based on their interests and match the prerequisites. Once all the information is updated, candidates will have to pay the counseling fee in online mode.

MAH BEd CET 2026 Counseling: Documents Required

The following documents are required during the counseling process of the MAH BEd CET.

  • MAH BEd CET application form
  • Admit card
  • Scanned Photo ID - PAN Card, Aadhar card, Voter ID, Driver’s license, etc.
  • Recent photograph and sign in the given format.
  • Class 10th and 12th marksheet and certificate.
  • Provision letter and character certificate.
  • Category certificate for candidates belonging to reserved categories.
  • No objection certificate and a sanction letter of 2 years from the employer if the candidate is in service.
