MAH BEd CET Counselling 2026: The State Common Entrance Test Cell will release the complete MAH BEd 2026 admission process. The counselling schedule is expected to be released in June, tentatively. This will be the final stage after which the eligible candidates can get admission in the BEd course across Maharashtra colleges. 

After the declaration of the MAH BEd CET Results, the conducting body organises the selection process in three main phases, for which the important dates are:

CAP Round I Registration: June 2026

CAP Round II Registration: August 2026

CAP Round III Registration: September 2026

ACAP Institutional Round IV Registration: September 2026

Only the registered and qualified candidates can participate in the MAH BEd CET Counselling. On this page, candidates can find all the major events, like registration, seat allotment, documents, and admission details on time.

What is CAP round in MAH CET?

The Centralised Admission Process is a structured, online counseling system for allotting seats in various colleges based on CET scores and preferences. The MAH BEd CET CAP is conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra, to provide admission to BEd courses offered by colleges across the state. The MAH BEd CET CAP is conducted online on the exam website cetcell.mahacet.org/. MAH BEd CET-qualified candidates will be eligible to participate in the counseling process. To participate in the counseling process, candidates are first required to register for the counseling process before the last date on the official website.

MAH BEd CET 2026 Counselling Process

The MAH BEd CET Counselling process is conducted through CAP (Centralized Admission Process). The counselling process started after the declaration of the MAH BEd CET 2026 results. All the qualified candidates can appear in the MAH BEd CET counselling process, conducted in online and offline modes. Through the counselling process, all the qualified candidates are allotted seats in BEd courses by colleges and universities accepting MAH BEd CET scores. 

MAH BEd CET Counselling or CAP will include the following steps:   

  • Online registration by candidates and filling up CAP form in online mode.  
  • Online verification of documents 
  • Updating and confirmation of MAH BEd CET 2026 Application Form. 
  • Candidates need to produce original documents for verification rounds. 
  • Candidates need to display the final merit list. 
  • And then candidates are required to report to the allotted institute. 
  • Confirmation of admission.

Candidates may fill in preferences for institutes in decreasing order of their preference as specified by the Competent Authority. The option form, once confirmed before CAP Round-I, shall be considered for allotment in CAP Round-I and II, and the option form confirmed before CAP Round III shall be considered for allotment in CAP Round III only

Main Steps for Registration & Counselling
  • Go to the CET Cell portal (cetcell.mahacet.org)
  • Create an account and register for the BEd CET counselling.
  • Fill in personal, academic details, and upload scanned documents (photo, signature, certificates).
  • Pay the required processing fee online

Fee for Registration Fee (During Application):

  • Open/OMS/All India: Around ₹1200.
  • Reserved Categories (SC/ST/OBC/SBC/PWD/Orphan/Transgender - Maharashtra only): Around ₹1000.

Seat Acceptance Fee (After Allotment):

A one-time fee of ₹1000 is mandatory to "Freeze" your seat and confirm admission after allotment

Release of the Alphabetical and Final Merit List

The Alphabetical and Final Merit Lists for MAH BEd CET are released by the Maharashtra CET Cell after counselling registration, with the Alphabetical List (provisional) published first, allowing for grievances, followed by the Final Merit List, which enables college option filling for CAP rounds

  • Post the counselling registration and e-verification, the exam authority will issue the alphabetical merit list.
  • After the list is released, candidates can submit complaints if they have any.
  • The admission committee will consider the concerns, and if they are valid, they will declare the final merit list.
  • College option form filling for rounds 1 and 2.
  • The college option form-filling window will open after the announcement of the final merit list. Candidates on the final merit list can choose colleges as per their preferences.
  • The options you provide during this period will be valid for CAP rounds 1 and 2

Seat Allotment and Result Announcement

MAH BEd Seat Allotment happens in CAP Rounds on the CET Cell portal after results, based on merit, choices (Freeze/Betterment)

  • Candidates are assigned seats based on their merit rank, web options, and availability. The seat allotment result is announced on the official CAP portal.
  • Aspirants must download the provisional allotment letter from their candidate login window.
  • They must submit a copy of the provisional allotment letter to the assigned college during the college reporting period.
  • If aspirants are allotted a seat as per their first preference during the choice-filling process, the allotment is considered final. They must give consent and select the "Freeze" option to confirm the seat. These candidates will not be eligible to participate in further college option rounds and must confirm the allotment by paying a one-time seat acceptance fee of INR 1,000 through the candidate login portal.
  • Shortlisted candidates must report to the allocated institute for the checking of their documents and confirm their admission by paying the prescribed college fees.
  • Aspirants who are not allotted their first preference but still wish to confirm their admission may also use the Freeze option.
  • Candidates who do not wish to confirm their current allotment can select the "Betterment" option and proceed to Round 2 and Round 3 of the counselling process.

Documents Required in MAH BEd CET Counselling

For the MAH BEd CET 2026 counselling (CAP) process, candidates must upload digital copies during registration and present original versions at the allotted college for verification

Type of candidate Following documents are to be scanned and uploaded while filling the online CAP Application form.
All candidates

1) FY,SY, TY Degree Marks Memo

2) Post - Graduation Marks Memo I- year & II-Year (If Applicable)

3) CET Score Card 2026.

4) CET Application form 2026

5) Domicile Certificate or Birth Certificate Mentioning place of Birth or School Leaving Certificate mentioning Place of Birth.

In addition to the above documents, candidates are required to upload following documents depending upon the Category to which they belong.
Maharashtra State Type-A Candidates

Domicile Certificate of the candidate

or

Birth Certificate

or

School Leaving certificate of the candidate Indicating place of Birth in the State of Maharashtra.

Or

Community, Nativity & Date of Birth Certificate.

Candidate has to upload any one document from these four document.

Maharashtra State Type-B Candidates Domicile certificate of Candidate/ father /mother of candidate indicating that he/she is domiciled in the State of Maharashtra
Maharashtra State Type-C Candidate Certificate from the employer in Pro forma-A stating that father or mother of the candidate who is a Central Government/Government of India undertaking employee is presently posted in/outside Maharashtra.
Maharashtra State Type-D Candidate

Certificate from the employer in Pro forma-B-1 stating that father or mother of the candidate who is a Maharashtra State Government or Maharashtra State

Government undertaking employee.

OR

Undertaking along with documentary evidences from the retired employees stating the Place of Settlement in Proforma-B2

Maharashtra State Type-E Candidates

Maharashtra Karnataka disputed border area Candidates

1) Certificate stating that candidate belongs to the disputed border area in Pro forma-G1.

And

2)Certificate stating that the mother tongue of the candidate is Marathi in Pro forma-G2

Backward class candidates belonging to SC/ ST from the State of Maharashtra only

1)Caste certificate

And

2) Caste/Tribe Validity Certificate. If Caste/Tribe Validity certificate is not available then candidate has to upload Receipt of application form for Caste/Tribe Validity Certificate. But Candidates have to upload the Caste/Tribe Validity certificate before the last date of confirmation of Admission, otherwise candidate will be considered in Open category in the subsequent rounds

Backward class candidates

belonging to

VJ/DT/NT(A)/NT(B)/NT(C)

/NT(D)/O.B.C/S.B.C/S.E.B.C from the State of Maharashtra only.

1) Caste certificate.

And

2) Caste/Tribe validity Certificate. If Caste/Tribe Validity certificate is not available, then candidate has to upload Receipt of application form for Caste/Tribe Validity Certificate. But Candidates have to upload the Caste/Tribe Validity certificate before last date of reporting/ Admission confirmation of the Second Round of Admission as declared in the Schedule otherwise candidate will be considered in Open category in the subsequent rounds.

3) Non creamy layer certificate valid up to 31st March 2026

The State Cell of Common Entrance Test added a few colleges in the CAP institutional round. These are the colleges participating in MAH BEd CET counselling.

  • All government institutes offering Ed. courses
  • All government minority and aided colleges offering Ed. programs
  • Colleges and institutes managed by central universities offering Ed. courses
  • Unaided minority institutes offering Ed. programs
