Students can apply to AKTU even with a JEE Mains rank in lakhs. Aspirants can get admission in private colleges affiliated with AKTU through the UPTAC Counselling Portal using JEE Main score. AKTU is a state-level, public collegiate university. Formerly known as Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), it is a University of National Importance, specially for the UG and PG courses offered in the field of Engineering and Science. AKTU is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Coming to the AKTU placements, the university has not released the placement report for the year 2023. However, as per media reports, 1,531 students were selected in TCS. A total of 318 students were placed with a package of INR 7.60 LPA in TCS Digital and rest 1,213 students were placed with a package of INR 3.60 LPA in TCS Ninja during AKTU placement 2023.

Presently, the University houses four constituent colleges, including the Institute of Engineering and Technology, Faculty of Architecture Lucknow, Centre for Advanced Studies, UP Institute of Design Noida. Apart from this, the University has 45+ affiliated colleges and 780+ institutes under its name. AKTU is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
AKTU accepts different national and state-level entrance tests for its programmes. Aspirants must submit the scores of the accepted tests to get a seat. Some of the tests accepted by the university are as below:
- JEE Main, CUET, NATA, IPU CET, GATE, GPAT, etc.
Students can get admission in AKTU even if they have RT in Chemistry. Candidates must pass at least five subjects and clear the minimum aggregate percentage required by the university. The minimum percentage required to be eligible for AKTU admission is 45% in Class 12. Although RT in Chemistry may prevent aspirants from taking specific courses like BPharm or Biotech, which list Chemistry as a mandatory subject.

The total tuition fee for MCA courses ranges from INR 59.47K - INR 3.59L. AKTU MCA fee is also inclusive of other components, such as security deposit, hostel fee, and more. Candidates need to pay the course fee to confirm their seat after final selection. It must be noted that the given fee is as per the official website/sanctioning body. However, it is subject to change and is hence indicative.

Yes, candidates seeking admission to DR. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Technical University undergraduate and postgraduate courses must have appeared for the CUET-UG and CUET-PG entrance exams, respectively. AKTU will not admit students who do not a valid CUET score. NTA usually releases CUET result in July. CUET UG Counselling is held and conducted separately by the participating institutes. CUET UG Counselling is usually held between Jul and Aug.

No, students need not to appear for JEE Main for lateral entry in AKTU. Students are eligible for B.Tech Lateral Entry to the second year at AKTU, without JEE scores. Candidates can get admission in B.Tech (Lateral) through CUET UG/ Diploma in Engineering/ BSc or DVoc. The final seat allotment is via UPTAC counselling process.
Students must meet the AKTU eligibility requirements to get admission in the university. The eligibility may vary depending on programme/ specialisation. Common eligibility is as below:

To get admission in AKTU MTech, students must meet the eligibility and selection requirement. The university accepts students through GATE/ BHU PET/ TANCET/ CUET/ IPUCET followed by UPTAC Counselling. The basic eligibility is to complete UG degree with a minimum aggregate of 55% - 60%.
