BHU MSc Courses & Fees 2025: Eligibility, Cutoff, Seats, Placements

Banaras Hindu University offer MSc course at the PG level. It is available in different specialisations. Candidates must meet the eligibility and selection requirements for admission. Mentioned below are a few course specialisations:

No, candidates cannot get direct admission in BHU for UG and PG courses. The university strictly offers entrance-based admission. It accepts entrance exams such as:

• CUET for BA, BCom, BSc, MA, MCom, MSc etc.  
• NEET for MBBS
• JEE for BTech 
• GATE for MTech 

The score required to take admission at BHU depends on the category you belong to and the course chosen. For the General AI category, the round 3 cutoff ranged from 6 to 260 for different PG-level programmes as per the BHU CUET PG cutoff 2026. So, yes, General AI category students can get admission to this institute with a score of 20.

BHU accepts CUET-UG scores for admission to several UG courses. Candidates seeking admission to BHU must apply online to register themselves. Follow the step-wise admission process as given below: 

1. The BHU application process is conducted in online mode through the official website of NTA (nta.ac.in). The fee for General category students is INR 750, INR 700 for OBC-NCL/EWS, and INR 650 for SC/ST/PwD/Transgender.
2. Candidates need to download the admit card by visiting the official website of CUET 2025 and clicking on 'Download CUET Admit Card'.
3. After the declaration of the CUET result, students seeking admission to BHU UG courses are required to apply online for CUET-UG Counselling on the BHU UG admission portal.
4. Further, candidates are required to participate in an online counselling process for provisional admission to the course (s). After that, the final seat allotment will be done by BHU.

BHU placements have received 79% positive reviews on Shiksha.com. The university has not yet released the course-wise placement data for the Batch of 2026. In 2025, UG 3-year and 4-year students received median packages of INR 8.5 LPA and INR 9 LPA, respectively, as per the NIRF Report 2026. The median packages of PG 2-year and 3-year students in 2025 were INR 9 LPA and INR 14 LPA, respectively.

BHU admission to most of the courses is entrance-based, hence it is compulsory to appear for the CUET-UG/ CUET-PG entrance exams to get admission to BHU undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The university also accepts other entrance exam such as NEET, GATE, CAT, etc. for admission to specific courses. Hence, aspirants need to appear for the accepted entrance-exam and also meet the course-specific eligibility for admission at BHU.

Banaras Hindu University can be reached via air, rail, or road transport. The airport the nearest to BHU is Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport. It is around 30 KMs away from the campus.
There are three main railway stations in Varanasi, namely Varanasi Junction (Varanasi Cantt.), Banaras Station, and Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction. Banaras Station is the closest to BHU. Those travelling by road can take NH-19 or NH-31. Various public transports run on these national highways. Candidates may not be allowed to apply for another course at BHU in the next year. Aspirants may not be allowed to pursue two degree courses at the same time. The applications can be accepted for Banaras Hindu University Diploma or certificate courses. Students must cancel admission in the running course before applying for another course.

M.D. cutoff is based on NEET PG scores for admission to the MD and MS courses. As per NEET PG cutoff the Round 1 closing ranks for top courses including MD in Radiodiagnosis closed at 159 and MD in Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy closed at 388 for the General category All India candidates. Also, NEET PG was concluded after the release of the Round 5 Seat Allotment. Whether you can get BHU for the BAMS course based on the AYUSH results would depend entirely on the category you belong to. For the General and OBC AI categories, the last round cutoff was 30748 and 32844, respectively. Hence, admissions with a rank of 70K are not possible for these categories.

On the other hand, for the SC AI category, the last round cutoff was 148564. There admissions could be possible with a rank of 70K.

NEET PG 2025 cut off has been reduced in comparision to last few year cut off. The cut off is the minimum marks required to qualify for the exam in that particular caregory. Yes, foreign national students can get admission in the UG and PG courses in BHU. 15% of supernumerary seats in each programme are reserved for foreign nationals. Candidates under the Foreign Students category must register through the Foreign Students' Registry only. Admissions under the foreign students' category will be merit-based. They do not have to appera in CUET exam.
