Calcutta University good for M.Sc.
Placements: Calcutta University offers decent placement opportunities for students. Top recruiting companies like Haldia Petrochemical, Bisleri best for Botany Student. Top roles offered like biochemist, lab technician. The highest package about 6.5LPA and the lowest package about 3.5LPA offered. Maybe 10-15% students got placements because many students go for higher studies.
Infrastructure: The university is well-equipped with modern laboratory instruments and classrooms with projectors. The library contains all books and new research papers for students. Also, the campus is fully Wi-Fi enabled. Hostel facilities are moderate. Rooms are simple. It serves good food with proper hygiene. There is a ground where we can play games.
Faculty: The faculty of our department is highly knowledgeable and experienced. Professors are very helpful with academic guidance including future guidance. They give us theoretical and practical knowledge which enhance the real problems solutions knowledge. The examination are moderate but test both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. About 85% students passed on the exam.
Other: I chose the course because of my deep fascination with plant life and the environment and choose Calcutta University because of its old rich history in excellent research facilities. The course duration is 2 years and divided into 4 semesters. The course offers wide range of subjects allowing students to gain knowledge in various aspects. The Herbarium and well-equipped labs provide excellent resources for studying. The university hosts events and fests throughout the year. These events helps students to interact, learn and have fun. The crowd is vibrant, students from different backgrounds coming together. The surroundings are peaceful and green, providing a perfect environment for studying. Activities like nature walks, gardening clubs and environment awareness programs could be vary engaging for botany students.

A very good college with very good infrastructure.
Placements: The placement of this college is good. They placed at least 30–40% students per year. The package is around 2–3 LPA. And the recruitment companies are like Wipro, Tata, etc. And also, some of the students got internships during their studies. Roles offered in internships include those of product testers and lab technicians.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is very good at our college. All the departments have separate labs and classrooms. Wi-fi is around the campus. And we also have a big library. Hostels are available, and the food quality is very tasty and affordable.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and knowledgeable. Many of them have Ph.D. degrees. They help students a lot. And their teaching quality is great. They teach us by providing real-life examples and many essential things that also help us get placement.

Great infrastructure, and facilities are there.
Placements: In the last year, more than 25% of students got jobs at big companies like TATA, WIPRO, etc. The package of placements is between INR 28999 and INR 18999. I think 10–12 percent of students got internships in their reading year, with the best roles like lab technician and product tester. Overall, placement is good.
Infrastructure: The best thing about the university is that all departments have their own labs, classrooms, and libraries, and the whole university is Wi-Fi enabled. All hostels at the university are average. Food is delicious, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. In the hostel, no medical facilities are available.
Faculty: The best thing about the teachers is that they all have Ph.D. degrees; some are research-level. They are very helpful, and their teaching quality is great. If you regularly follow the course and labs, you are ready to join the industry. It's very easy to clear all semester, and the pass percentage may be 96%.
Other: Coming from an agricultural background, it's very helpful for me. I think outdoor visits and outdoor work will be better in the future. In a year, events come one by one, and once in a while, unions organize fests. The campus is full of greenery. 2 or 3 scholarships are there, and you can apply during your time at the university. Connectivity is great.

Best university for M.Sc. and research with friendly-supportive faculty members.
Placements: I am a science student. So, less than 30% of students get placements every year in a mixture of all departments like biochemistry, biotech, botany, and zoology. But most students are going for higher studies, like a Ph.D. Last year, companies like Dr. Reddy and Biocon mainly focused on recruiting only biotech and botany students. One of my seniors is going for a lab technician and another research analyst role offered during placements. Last year, the highest 12.5 LPA, and the lowest 4.5 LPA packages were offered by companies.
Infrastructure: I am proud to say that my department is one of the most digitally equipped. All the lecture halls of my department are equipped with Wi-Fi, a projector, and AC. The library is top-class with more than 6 lakh books and recent time digital notes or research projects. Labs are well-equipped with modern types of equipment, focused on recent industries. I am not staying in a hostel, but my friend said that it is a good and friendly environment. But the food is good in our canteen.
Faculty: I rate it 5/5 for my department teachers based on their best quality of teaching. Also, they are very friendly and helpful. They are very knowledgeable and highly qualified. The course curriculum is relevant and modern industry-focused, which helps us to better understand the recent industry. Semester exams are mostly difficult, but that helps us to attend regular classes and read carefully. But practical exams are easy and enjoyable. Most of the students pass like 95% of the students.
Other: I am a botany graduate. I can go for biotech or biochemistry, but my interest in botany has been in recent discoveries. Every government is focused on green energy. The best thing is that the course is focused on the industry. I think the course should focus more on recent industries. Our campus union is helpful and organised, too many things at every festival like sports in winter, Holi, etc. Campus connectivity is good with the nearest railway station, metro station, bus stop, and tram connectivity. Campus is crowded during college time with the best greenery surroundings.
