    5thumbs up
    A:

For seat allocation at DU, students are required to lock their college and course preferences after the result is out. Delhi University will consider normalised scores provided by NTA to calculate the merit scores as per programme's eligibility. The highest possible preference will be provisionally allocated to the candidates considering the following points:

    • Course-Specific merit
    • Category of the students (UR/ OBC-NCL/ SC/ ST/ EWS/ Minority)
    • Seat Intake
    • Any other allocation rules, policies, or criteria citied by CSAS or University of Delhi
Q:   Can I get admission in Delhi University without CUET?
    4thumbs up
    A:

CUET UG is compulsory for admission in the affiliated colleges of University of Delhi for UG courses. Delhi University introduced admissions through CUET scores  for candidates who seek admission.

Candidates will not be granted admission on the basis of merit of Class 12 There are some percentage criteria required to appear for the CUET exam for Class 12 candidates which is given below:

    • Students must have passed Class 12 or appeared in Class 12 from a recognized board in any stream to take admission to bachelor's degree programmes in the central, state, private or deemed universities.
    • For the General category, the candidate needs to secure a minimum of 50% in Class 12; for SC/ST, candidates must have secured a minimum of 45% in Class 12 to be eligible for the CUET exam. For BTch programmes, the minimum aggregate for the General category candidates is 45%, and that of the reserved category candidates is 40%.

Q:   What is the last date for DU admission 2026?
    3thumbs up
    A:

Delhi University admission 2026 is open now. The last date to apply for DU PG courses is Jun 7, 2026. For the UG courses, students have to apply through CSAS counselling after CUET results are declared. The last date is tentatively scheduled for July 2026.

Q:   Can I get admission in DU without CUET?
    A:

Yes, it is possible to get in DU without CUET. However, this is not applicable for traditional regular UG courses. For most programmes, the university asks for CUET UG or CUET PG score. For courses, such as MBA and Law programmes, the university also considers other exams. Students can also join DU SOL, NCWEB using Class 12 marks and skipping CUET.

Q:   Can I take direct admission in Delhi University?
    A:

No, candidates cannot take direct admission in Delhi University. The university offers admission into UG and PG programmes based on scores achieved in CUET (Common University Entrance Test) conducted by NTA. Candidates need to register and counsel through the university's Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal.

Q:   Do I need 60% in Class 12 to get admission in DU?
    A:

DU is considered one of the most competitive universities in India for Commerce, Science and Arts education at the undergraduate level. The university and its affiliated colleges was attracting the cream layer of crowd till the time admission was subject to Class 12 scores. While reserved category candidates still had minor chances of getting into a not-so-popular course of DU with 60% in Class 12, a General category student with 60% had no chance of getting into any good college or course at DU.

However, starting 2022, DU admission process has shifted to CUET-UG based admission process. Those with a valid score in CUET UG exam who have passed their Class 12 are eligible to take admission now. While the chances of getting into a good DU college are still low at this score, the chances of getting a seat have increased now (provided you score extremely well in CUET UG).

Department Of Computer Science, DU. One of the best colleges for MCA/M.Sc (Computer Science).
Placements: There is 100% placement record. The highest package offered is 22 LPA, and the lowest is around 4 LPA. The average package is around 8-10 LPA. Top recruiters are Amazon, Housing. Com etc. Almost 90% companies come for software developer/engineer role & 10% for other roles like analyst.
Infrastructure: There is a decent library, and highly maintained labs, with the latest systems and connectivity. Hostel is not provided. There's no sports ground available, but good gardens and large empty space is there. There is a common canteen in the university.
Faculty: Our teachers are well qualified. All our faculty members are either Ph.D. holders, or pursuing their Ph.D. Our curriculum is both industry relevant, as well as research oriented. First year exams are just the same as B.Sc. or BCA exams. Then they go to advance areas like Digital Image Processing. In The fifth semester, you would have choices, to choose from multiple subjects. In the final semester, you would have the choice to either do project in the college, or just complete your internship.
Other: Best part of DU is the fees, atmosphere, crowd, and placements.

This is the best college for MCA after NITs.
Placements: Form every batch every year almost 90% of students got placed in reputed IT companies. The highest package is 48 LPA, the average package is 9 LPA, and the lowest package is 6 LPA. Interviews start in the final year and almost every student cracks interviews and gets an internship. The top companies are Adobe, Amazon, Paytm, Flipkart, Oyo, and many more.
Infrastructure: At DUCS you will get all kinds of facilities. Fully air-conditioned classrooms, and well-equipped labs for practical work. PC specifications in labs are Dell, i7 processors with 16GB RAM, Wi-Fi speed up to 1 GBPS. Huge seminar halls for meetings and seminars.
Faculty: All the teachers in DUCS are well qualified, all are Ph.D. holders and have experience of at least 5 years in teaching. Professors are really helpful and polite unless you poke them. Fully relevant course curriculum. Subjects taught will be the core of interviews and competitive exams. Exams are a little bit difficult but if you study honestly it will be easy for you.

Get admission here if you want job just after MCA. But if you want to go for higher studies, don't
Placements: The placement is great here. So far, 25 companies have come and still coming this year. If you are looking for a job after MCA, then you must choose MCA in DU. As far as I know, it is the best place to do MCA to get a job. I have enjoyed here because you get the habit of solving problems by yourself due to some good projects and jobs too.
Infrastructure: I would rate only 2 stars out of 5. There are only 4-5 classes taking a load of both M.Sc in computer science and MCA, so it is not that good but classes and labs are well-maintained, though. If you imagining a very big campus, then you might be wrong. Apart from this, A.C., book, laptops and Wi-Fi are provided for free to the needy.
Faculty: Teachers are not working very hard for students. If you are good at self-study, then you won't find any problem. You would get some good projects also apart from your academic session. Teachers will help you if you contact them personally but not in the class.

Very hectic curriculum; little personal time. Placements ~50–60%. Few hostels; PGs costly. If no NIT
Placements: After Covid placements declined a lot previously placements percentage was above 80 now it range between 50-60% students. Median package is 9-12lpa the lowest is 6lpa and the highest is 22lpa. Companies like amdocs, ciena, united airlines etc. Around 10-12 companies visit each year, major roles offered by them are sde, junior data scientist. I would suggest go for NITs if you don't get any then only you can consider this.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is decent labs are equipped with modern computers equipped with Wi-Fi and LAN, SMART classrooms, you get departmental and Central library so no issue of books and studying. Hostel facilities are limited, provided to only a few students each year, there are total of 5-7 seats in hostel both MCA and M.Sc. combined you will have to ace CUET with under 20 AIR to get hostel, trust me it's totally worth it facilities and food provided by DU's hostels are comparable with minimum cost.
Faculty: All teachers are very helpful teaching quality can vary, curriculum is industry relevant but no cource can make you industry ready it's you who have to make it college is just a platform where you get opportunities. Curriculum is so hectic Monday to Friday classes 9-5 and assignments and labs you don't have enough time to prepare by yourself definitely a downside.

It is an awesome experience for me to be a part of DUCS, and my dream came true.
Placements: Placements in our college are amazing, and final year students can apply for placements. Students and teachers are very supportive and encouraging here. The college trained us from the first year only for placements. The salary package offered is also good. Companies which visit here for placements are also good. Workshops are provided at regular intervals.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good. There are air-conditioned rooms and nice canteen. The library is centralised, and proper hygiene is maintained here. The seminar room is well organised, and Wi-Fi facility is also available. LAN connections are available in labs. Labs have an adequate number of computers.
Faculty: Faculty members in our college are good. They provide holistic development and always available. Most of them are qualified PhD and provide knowledge of concepts and motivates to explore more. Mostly they teach on the projector and provides practical knowledge. There are many female faculty members. Non-teaching staff members are very helpful.
