IIT Bombay MTech Eligibility & Highlights 2026
IIT Bombay MTech programme is offered for two years in 39 specialisations under 18 departments. Admission to the course is entrance-based. The technology institute accepts scores of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). Some of the specialisations offered under the MTech course are Computer Science & Engineering, Electronic Systems, Biomedical Engineering, etc. The institute offers dual degree courses as well, such as BTech + MTech and MTech + PhD.
IIT Bombay MTech admission is granted based on scores in the GATE exam, followed by COAP counselling. Moreover, there is no upper age limit and no restrictions on the number of attempts for the GATE exam. Aspirants of the PG course must fulfil the following entry requirements:
Eligibility Criteria: BE/ BTech or other valid UG degree from a recognised university, passed with a minimum of 60% aggregate (55% for SC/ ST/ PwD category).

Two-third of fee is refunded in case where parental income is between INR 1 Lacs and INR 5 Lacs per annum.

Yes, students from all the streams can apply for B.Des programme at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Indore. They can fill the Joint seat allocation form if they have cleared the UCEED 2026 Entrance Exam.

UCEED 2026 counselling will be conducted by IIT Bombay. The counselling process will have five rounds.
UCEED 2026 Joint Admission Process will not have any spot rounds. If there are any spot counselling rounds, it will be notified.

No, IIT Bombay will not send the hard copies of CEED 2026 Scorecard. The scorecard of CEED will be issued only in online mode. The candidate has to download it from the CEED admission portal - ceed.iitb.ac.in. To download the scorecard, log in by entering your email id and password.Â
