The GATE 2026 result has been announced for the M.E./M.Tech course. The GATE 2026 counselling process for round 1 is scheduled to start from May 11, 2026.
IIT Bombay MTech Eligibility & Highlights 2026
IIT Bombay MTech programme is offered for two years in 39 specialisations under 18 departments. Admission to the course is entrance-based. The technology institute accepts scores of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). Some of the specialisations offered under the MTech course are Computer Science & Engineering, Electronic Systems, Biomedical Engineering, etc. The institute offers dual degree courses as well, such as BTech + MTech and MTech + PhD.
IIT Bombay MTech admission is granted based on scores in the GATE exam, followed by COAP counselling. Moreover, there is no upper age limit and no restrictions on the number of attempts for the GATE exam. Aspirants of the PG course must fulfil the following entry requirements:

STEP 1: IIT Bombay MTech Application Process 2026

IIT Bombay offers admission to various PG courses on the various exams. MSc course is offered through IIT JAM. For the General All India category students, the last round closing ranks were between 17 and 40.

Yes, the amount is refunded on vacating the hostel provided the concerned student is not charged with any fine for hostel/ mess damage. Yes, IIT Bombay offers Merit-cum-Means Scholarship to UG students. It is awarded to a maximum of 25% of sanctioned intake. For Dual degree, it is available only up to fourth year.

UCEED 2026 counselling will be conducted by IIT Bombay. The counselling process will have five rounds.

No, IIT Bombay will not send the hard copies of CEED 2026 Scorecard. The scorecard of CEED will be issued only in online mode. The candidate has to download it from the CEED admission portal - ceed.iitb.ac.in. To download the scorecard, log in by entering your email id and password.Â
