IMU is the best for studying marine engineering.
Placements: Placements are average. In the Maritime sector, there are very fewer demands for jobs, and if you go to any college, they are not giving 100% placement. In our college, around 60% of student were placed this year and an average salary offered is Rs. 40,000 per month.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is quite good. You will get all the facilities in a single place. Even the ship on campus is also available. Thus, you will get all the basic information about the ship in the land only, no need to go to the sea. All the sports courts are also available in the college.
Faculty: I am studying B.Tech in Marine engineering. Faculty members are highly educated. As in this Maritime field, we want training as well as academics. Discipline is quite important in our field, and this is what they are teaching us all the time. So that after passing out from here we don't have to face problems onboard.
Other: I like to explore the world, so I have chosen this field. It also provides a good salary so that I can fulfil my dreams.

Review of Indian Maritime University, Chennai- Mumbai Campus MERI.
Placements: The college provides 100% of placement in worldwide companies, mostly in Singapore and India, and students can try for off-campus interviews. The college is the best for marine engineering. There are many opportunities, promising jobs, and chances for qualified candidates. Thanks to the government of India for many improvements.
Infrastructure: The college provides facilities like Wi-Fi, library, sports, games, gym, workshops, external workshops, dockyard training, classroom, laboratories, engines, and lots of other things available around the campus.
Faculty: Faculty members and education are very good, even better-visiting faculty members and 100% of attendance is mandatory. Central University controls the course curriculum. India's government boost in transportation and shipping sector has provided a lot of fund for our college. The college provides world-class workshops and training.

Hello Gangu, Yes, 12th by NIOS is same as 12th by any board. Hence I see no difficulty for you in getting admission for marine engineering based on 12th by NIOS. However other eligibility criteria remain and you will have clear these.
