All you need to know before joining Jadavpur University.
Placements: In 2024, about 90% of students got placed in Information Technology. The highest package was offered by Pixel Group of 1.4 crores per annum and the lowest was 3 LPA by TCS Ninja. The average package was 19.12 LPA and the median was 13 LPA (due to recession). Top recruiting companies were Google, Well Fargo, De Shaw, Salesforce, and BNY Mellon. About 20-30% of students get internships in companies like Salesforce, BNY Mellon, etc. Software development engineer role is the most common role offered, besides this assistant member of technical staff, offered by Salesforce.
Infrastructure: All the classrooms except 1st year have AC and projectors and have enough space to accommodate students. The infrastructure of our college is decent. We have campus Wi-Fi and high-quality laboratories. We have a central library that contains a lot of books and journals. On the Saltlake campus, we have all single-roomed hostels. There is a mess and a hostel canteen that serves North and South Indian food. Hostel seats are very less so maximum students ahead to stay in PG and flats. There is a hostel, Wi-Fi, volleyball, and badminton court inside the hostel. Hostel infrastructure is decent and has enough space.
Faculty: Maximum teachers are highly qualified in their fields and are very helpful. Their teaching quality is also good. They are highly concentrated in their research fields. Course curriculum is industry-relevant, almost every 5 years the course curriculum is changed and it had provided the college with great results. The semester exams are moderately difficult. The pass percentage is 32%.
Other: The placement of our university is very good. Moreover, there is a great scope for extracurricular activities. The fests are above average in our college. The night life is awesome here due to the excellent location of our college. There should be 6 months internship scope on our curriculum that is not present at the moment I am writing this review.

Small campus with mediocre infrastructure but amazing placements and education.
Placements: Placements are amazing, especially for the higher branches. Last year, for example, the IT department had a very good median of 20 LPA despite the recession. The percentage of students being placed is also very high, with some branches, like mechanical, having 100% placement.
Infrastructure: Facilities are subpar but usable, mainly due to the college not having much funding. Classrooms and labs are fine; however, the bathrooms could use some work. The buildings have also seen a lot of wear and tear due to the college being very old and could use some renovation.
Faculty: The teachers are experienced and knowledgeable. The course, although not the most updated, is still much better than at most colleges out there. The exams were difficult but to a reasonable extent. The attendance policy is also not very strict, so students have a good experience.

FULL REVIEW OF JU FROM STUDENT
Placements: Very high placement average of 10 lakh, with the highest at 1.4 crore. I am looking forward to such placements in the future; these placements are seen in only very few colleges. It’s one of the best tier-1 colleges, as evidenced by the NIRF ranking for 2024, which is 12, competing well with the IITs.
Infrastructure: The labs and classrooms are of very high quality, and the library is fully equipped with all the required books. A digital library is also available for the students. What more can one expect for 10k for 4 years, considering such placements and infrastructure? It’s just one of the best in the country.
Faculty: The faculty is awesome, with very helpful teachers, amazing fests, and supportive seniors. The student diversity is incredible, surrounded by so much talent. Getting in is not easy, so work hard, champ, and I hope to meet you at the college.
Other: For B.Tech, the fees are 10k for 4 years, and in the IT department, it’s 1.2 lakh for 4 years.

Best RETURN OF INVESTMENT in INDIA
Placements: In 2024, there is 100% placement for average branches like Mechanical, Chemical, and Civil. In 2024, the highest package was 1.4 crore per annum, and the lowest was 4 LPA. You can expect tech giants like Google, Microsoft, and Amazon. The highest package ever was 1.8 crore per annum, which was offered by Google.
Infrastructure: Don't expect too many facilities in the hostel with the cost of 15 rupees per month. Although it includes electric and Wi-Fi charges, you have to pay nearly 1500 per month for the mess. The library is too big; over 1 lakh books are there according to data. Labs are very old.
Faculty: IIT-level professors are there, but don't expect too much clarity in lectures. You have to be self-dependent for placement preparation. Overall, the curriculum is good, but it is not too relevant for placement. Professors are very helpful, although some of them have a rude mindset.
Other: The ROI is the best in India. Computer Science is one of the most recognized fields in the whole country.

Best college of engineering in terms of return on investment.
Placements: Placements are of top-notch quality. Especially in the circuital branches, there are almost 100% placements (almost because some of the students opt for higher studies). The highest package goes above crores over here. Students over here get both domestic as well as international packages.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for the college is good. Fully Wi-Fi-enabled campus. An air-conditioned library is available for all the students. Labs have top-class facilities. Even the hostels have good facilities. Food in the mess is also good; both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options are available.
Faculty: The teachers here are very knowledgeable and efficient. If you attend their classes once, you do not need to read that topic again. All the teachers are PhD's or have done M.Tech from some IIT's or any renowned institutes. Students crack highly competitive exams like GATE by studying from them.
Other: Fests are held quite often on campus. Crowds from all over Kolkata gather on the campus. Vibes at the fests are amazing and very enjoyable.

It is one of the best colleges in India.
Placements: Around 90% of students got placed in our class. The highest salary package offered was 60 LPA, the average salary package was 16 LPA, and the minimum salary package was 6 LPA. Top recruiting companies were MAANG, Samsung, Apple, Uber, Atlassian, Slice, and Hotstar. Around 60-65% of students get internships. Top roles offered are SDE, software engineer, and assistant engineer.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, library, recreational center, grounds for football and cricket, and courts for basketball, volleyball, and badminton. It was the best college at a fee of Rs.2,000 per month and the total cost of a semester is Rs.5.000 per semester, and for IT it is Rs.30,000 per year.
Faculty: Teachers in our college were helpful. They guided and motivated students for their growth, which helped students during their initial careers as most of the things were taught in class. Our college followed the IIT syllabus.
Other: Our college should provide more interaction with alumni and the best internships. The fee structure of our college was low.

The most affordable and prestigious engineering college in West Bengal with excellent placements.
Placements: In our college, almost 100% of students were placed in our course the previous year. Top recruiting companies like Amazon, Google, Apple, Microsoft, etc., visit our campus. The highest salary package offered is 1.2 crores per annum by Amazon. The highest domestic package offered is 64.23 LPA by Apple. The average salary package offered is 20 LPA and the lowest salary package offered is 10 LPA. The top role offered is a software developer.
Infrastructure: It is a state-funded university so the infrastructure is not as excellent as at private colleges and IITs. Facilities for our course are sufficient. Our laboratories are fully equipped to conduct all experiments. Wi-Fi speed is moderate. Our classrooms are huge and well-furnished. The library has a huge collection of books. The hostel rooms are old. It has everything you need, including a study table, a light, a fan, and Wi-Fi. The quality of the food is good. There is a huge playground named CAB, where you can play whatever game you like. Besides, there are facilities for indoor sports like table tennis, badminton, chess, etc.
Faculty: Our teachers are well qualified and some of them are qualified from prestigious institutes in our country. They are helpful and very friendly. They always try to understand students' conditions and help us accordingly. Some faculty members teach so well that you don't have to make much effort to understand the topic. The course curriculum is very updated and relevant. The level of the semester exam is lower than that of the JEE. Almost all students pass with a good CGPA.
Other: I chose this course because I want to be a software developer. The best thing is that after completing our course, you will have sufficient knowledge to join any MNC as a software developer. There is a workshop for UG1 students in our course. This could be done in a better way. There are so many events at our university as if something were happening on our campus every day. The name of our departmental festival is Illuminate. Our college organises a CIIPPUS freshers party. SANSKRITI is our university most well-known annual festival. There is also the Srijan festival. The nearby railway station is the Sealdah railway station. There is a campus bus that runs from one campus to the next. In our college surroundings, there are many colleges like NIFT and other private colleges. Universities award scholarships called Triguna Sen and Freeship. You can take part in any extracurricular activity. There are many clubs, like photography, mountaineering, chess, poetry, and science club.

Placements: It is one of the top universities in India. Many top companies like Uber, Google, Amazon, and many service-based companies visit our college to recruit students. Information Technology is one of the top branches in this college with 95% of placements every year. The international salary package offered to students was 2 CPA to 3 CPA. Many top companies provide good internship opportunities to students every year.
Infrastructure: Our department was provided on the second campus. Hostel facilities were very good on the second campus as it was newly constructed. Hostels were very neat and clean. The quality of food served in the hostels was very good and tasty at a reasonable price. Wi-Fi facilities were available 24 hours a day. Students can attend the library with their library card any time which had a better environment to study. Classrooms were very big and were sufficient for 500 students.
Faculty: Professors in our college were very helpful and focused on practical application and research work. They improved students with practical and research work which helped students to get industry exposure. The course curriculum was very well designed by the faculty members which helped students to learn from their roots. Semester exams were focused on the practical aspects taught by the professors.
Other: Many scholarship opportunities were open for our college students. Our college provides scholarships every year for students who score well in board exams, semester exams, etc. The campus is always crowded. Many events and sports competitions were helped in our college. JUSC is one of the best top-rated clubs in our college that organises many events every year.

Depends on your interest. if you are interested in coding, then you may opt for CSE or IT. but getting CSE at the rank of 442 is difficult. you may go with IT. CSE and IT have good placement records.
