LPUNEST is a national-level exam conducted by LPU for admission to various courses. LPUNEST forms the basis of eligibility for some programmes and also for the scholarship programmes. The amount of scholarship is determined by the marks and rank obtained by candidates in the exam. LPUNEST exam pattern elucidates the scheme of the question paper. Candidates seeking admission through LPUNEST must check the exam pattern prior to starting the preparation. LPUNEST exam pattern imparts details like total number of question, subjects, marking scheme, exam duration, etc. The entrance test is neither hard nor easy. Candidates must prepare well to score the qualifying marks in the entrance exam. 

Q:   Will I get a direct admission in LPU with 65 % marks in Class 12?
A: 

LPU does not offer direct admission. However, admission to few courses is merit-based.  Aspirants scoring a 65% aggregate have a good chance of getting admission in LPU. Candidates seeking admission must visit the official website of the university to apply online. To apply for LPU, aspirants need to register for LPUNEST for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses. LPU admission to most of the courses is based on LPUNEST score. However, national-level entrance exam scores are also accepted for admission to BA LLB (Hons), MBA, BTech, etc. Candidates must complete Class 12 for UG courses and graduation for PG courses. The selection rounds are followed by counselling and document verification.

Q:   Can I get admission in LPU for BTech without taking JEE Mains?
A: 

Yes, candidates seeking admission to LPU BTech course can also apply via LPUNEST. Apart from accepting a valid JEE Main entrance test score, LPU also conducts the Lovely Professional University National Entrance and Scholarship Test (LPUNEST) for BTech admission. The score of candidates must be equal or above precribed percentage in JEE for exemption from LPUNEST. For scores below the prescribed percentage, candidates will be required to appear for LPUNEST. Only after qualifying LPUNEST, candidates can get admission to the BTech course.

LPU offers admission to BTech based on LPUNEST. Candidates apply for BTech CSE Software Product Engineering need to pass KQ test followed by a PI round. Q:   What is the cutoff for LPU for BTech?
A: 

Candidates need to pass Class 12 to apply for BTech courses. Check below BTech eligibility for different specialisations:

  • Class 12 pass with Physics, Mathematics and English or equivalent as compulsory subjects from a recognised board with at least 60% aggregate is required for BTech CSE, ECE, EE, EEE, IT and BTech (Hons) CSE Data Science and Data Engineering, CSE-Cyber Security & Blockchain and CSE-Full Stack Software.
  • Candidates need to pass Class 12 with PCMB/ Biotechnology and English or equivalent as compulsory subjects from a recognised board with a minimum of 60% aggregate to apply for Food Technology, Biotechnology and Biomedical Engineering.

LPU NEST application form fee for a soft copy of the LPU NEST 2026 Kit is INR 1000 for boys and girls. The printed copy of the LPU NEST Kit is available for INR 1500 for boys and girls. The application fee can be paid online if the application form is filled out online. The application fee can be given as a demand draft if the application form is submitted offline. If the DD is not enclosed or DD is wrongly drawn, the application form will not be accepted. The application fee has to be paid to submit the application form.

Personal experience of my college, LPU.
Placements: As far as I know, the placements are good in my college. Almost all the fourth-year seniors whom I know get good placements according to the current job market. The highest package in the previous year was 2.5 Cr, and usually, the average package is around 8–9 LPA. The placement cell of this college is also good. It tries its best to ensure that all students who opt for placements get placed.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is really good, whether we consider classes or hostels. All classrooms have AC. We have different academic buildings for different courses. Most academic buildings also have lifts, which is a really good thing. Our hostels are also good, and the newly constructed hostels are even better. Overall, the infrastructure is good.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified. Many teachers have Ph.D. degrees, which is a good thing. It makes teaching quality better. Although some faculty members are not good, everything cannot be perfect. The course curriculum is also good. For example, CSE students do not have to study Chemistry or perform chemical experiments, which I noticed my friends from different colleges have to do. The exams can be challenging sometimes, but some exams are easy, some are moderate, and some are difficult.
Other: I opted for B.Tech CSE because of my personal interest in this subject. Multiple events are going on in our college. Almost every week we have different events, which makes campus life really lively.

It is a value-for-money college.
Placements: LPU provides very good opportunities. Now it depends on the students if they are capable of cracking those interviews. I agree that LPU does give great opportunities in placements. Almost 70–80% of students get placed. The highest package is above 30 LPA. Every student gets an internship through university. Companies like TCS, Blinkit, Zomato, EY, and others come for placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good. Hostel facilities are good, providing good food, but it is a little expensive. Classes are also good, with fully AC classrooms and smart classes. The campus is very big. We get a fully functional university mall inside the campus. Wi-Fi is also good with very high speed, and the full campus has Wi-Fi. The library is very big and has multiple floors. Medical facilities are good, as we have a full university hospital inside the campus and a 24/7 ambulance service.
Faculty: Teachers are good, friendly, supportive, well-qualified, and knowledgeable. Their teaching style and methods are also good. We follow lecture, tutorial, and practical methods of teaching. The course curriculum is relevant to our course. It is very helpful from an industry point of view. The exam level is good. They follow a 30% MCQ and 70% subjective pattern in exams. The overall pass percentage is 40%.

Honest review on placements, crowd, and college life.
Placements: The university reports that about 85-90 percent of students got placed. The highest offered on campus is around 53 LPA by Microsoft. The lowest package is 3 LPA and the average package is 6 LPA. The top recruiting companies are TCS, Cognizant, Capgemini, Wipro, etc. The internships are not too bad top5 5-10 percent of students secure internships during the 3rd year ending. The roles offered in LPU are full-stack developer.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi connectivity is good in classrooms and hostels. You will get two types of Wi-Fi one is LPU wireless, and the other is Jio-net. The LPU wireless is unlimited, while Jio-net is 1 GB per day on a mobile number. Labs and practical training in LPU are good with modern tools, high-speed internet through which students get practical exposure. Classrooms are very big because LPU has a very large crowd. There are a minimum of 60+ students sitting in a classroom. The central library is very large with 5 floors where you can borrow books for up to 7 days.
Faculty: Most of the staff are highly qualified and hold M.Tech and Ph.D. degrees. A few teachers are with a B.Tech degree as well. The course curriculum is regularly updated with current technology and market scenario. There is a PEP session in summer for placement readiness. The semester exams consist of Continuous assessment, mid-term, end-term, and attendance. If you study 3-5 days before the exam, you can also get good marks.
Other: I chose CSE because I have a strong interest in technology like software development and problem solving. There is a policy in the university, if you sit in the drive of a company and are placed, you are not eligible for packages below 1.5 times the obtained placement package. There are lots of events that happen every month. The campus crowd is very huge compared to other universities. Scholarships are based on intermediate marks, JEE Main, and LPUNEST.

Placements: As per ours and yours, the placements are decent, and the packages are not very good for the ECE department. The highest package was only 7 LPA, and the lowest was 3.5 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Google, Amazon, BNY, Cognizant, and Cisco. The top roles offered in this course are VLSI Design and Embedded System Engineer.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities are good enough. Classroom sizes are small, with a capacity of 40 students. Labs are equipped with all facilities like Wi-Fi, AC, and smart machines. The hostel facilities are good, providing a gym, cricket/football ground, and a paid canteen.
Faculty: Most teachers have good knowledge and are well-qualified with PhDs. They are very helpful with mentorship in projects, seminars, and teaching. The teaching quality is decent. The course curriculum is good for placements. It provides placement classes to make students industry-ready.

All you should know about LPU.
Placements: One had to rely more on developing one's skill set, as professors helped students develop theirs. Placements, however, depended on individual performance, but the college provided great exposure. Even though the starting on-campus placement salaries were low, it was a great choice.
Infrastructure: Classrooms were interactive, and I really loved them. The experienced professors made understanding concepts much better. The Wi-Fi network was excellent, with seamless connectivity throughout the campus. I loved the college life. Apart from curriculum books, the library contained books that helped students develop a lot of skills.
Faculty: Faculty was top-notch. Their doubt-solving nature and politeness towards the students were outstanding. They were easy to connect with and helped in mentoring projects. The exams were conducted fairly. The curriculum matched modern-day job-relevant information.
Other: The campus was beautiful, and the sports facilities were top-notch. Frequent recreational activities such as concerts and events were normal. I loved the college life.

Placements: In LPU, you will get around an 80 percent placement rate overall for the 2026 passing batch. Top recruiting companies are Google, Amazon, Accenture, BNY, Morgan Stanley, Cognizant, CompTIA, and Cisco. The campus average is around 6.5 LPA- 7 LPA, the highest on campus goes around 55 LPA-65 LPA every year. The top 10 percent of students in CSE has average package of 14.5 LPA-15 LPA. Earlier most of the companies come for full-stack developer roles, but in the past 1 year, AI-ML roles as well as this role are also coming.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and the facilities are good here. The room size and the mess food change according to the hostel. Wi-Fi speed is good most of the time, but sometimes the speed decreases drastically. The hostel facilities are wonderful, like a gym, shop, late-night canteen, freedom for boys all night on campus except around girls' hostels.
Faculty: Most faculty in the department are well-qualified with PhD backgrounds. LPU highlights this a lot a mixed bag some excellent, some just reading slides. Teaching quality is engaging with practical examples and good for theory but less hands-on. Some professors are especially helpful with doubt-clearing sessions and mentorship guidance. The class sizes are large, so individual attention is limited. Faculty are responsive outside class hours too. During the placement, mock drives are also scheduled.
Other: I chose the CSE branch because of my interest in programming and web development, strong career prospects in tech, family/senior recommendation. LPU's placement record by some of my homies, and most importantly, scholarship via LPU NEST. LPU's CSE programme specifically appealed to me because of industry tie-ups, exposure to AI/ML and cloud electives, and the size of the tech recruiter pool during placements. Others are some special batches of different companies. Tech fests and hackathons alongside the university-wide One World and One India cultural fest. CSE students often get involved in coding competitions, hackathons, and tech society events.

Yes, students can get admission in LPU without LPUNEST if they have scores of other accepted exams. The university conducts LPUNEST as both a scholarship and entrance test. Students can instead submit scores of the following exams as well:
