In order to prepare for NLSAT exam, candidates must follow a strategy as under:
- Check the exam pattern & syllabus to know the subjects and weightage of the entrance exam
- Make a strategy comprising all the subjects and a schedule - daily, weekly etc.
- Get books and reference material based on the subjects of NLSAT exam
- Clear all doubts and then practice questions for all the subjects
Candidates can also take any other LLB entrance exam's mock tests that have same subjects as NLSAT question paper. Apart from this, candidates must also get updates around current affairs and legal domain with online sources. Although, the exam authority has clarified that candidate's need not have knowledge of law domain to attempt the examination, but current affairs is important section in Part A of the question paper, so candidates must not leave any topic including legal news.

NLSAT 2026 Exam Pattern Overview
As the question paper of NLSAT will be divided into two parts, candidates must check the exam pattern as under:
Exam mode - Pen-paper based test mode for both parts of the question paper
Test medium - The question paper will be available in English only, and candidates also need to write subjective answers in the same language.
Total Subjects - 5 subjects, from which 3 subjects will be from Part A and 2 subjects will be from Part B
Type of questions - The part A of the question paper will carry multiple choices based questions, and the part B of the question paper will carry subjective type of questions
Duration of exam - The total duration of exam will be 1 hour 30 minutes.
Total questions - The part A of the question paper will carry 75 questions of one mark each, and the part B of the question paper will carry 11 questions.
Total marks - The total marks for the exam are 150 marks.
