AP LAWCET, or Andhra Pradesh State Law Common Entrance Test, is a state-level entrance examination conducted for admission to 3-year LLB and 5-year LLB courses offered by law colleges affiliated law colleges of Andhra University. The counselling of APLAWCET comprises Online Registration, Weboption exercise, seat allotment result and reporting to the allocated college. Candidates will have the option to participate in phase 1 counselling and if the seat is not allocated during this round, candidates will have the option to take part in subsequent rounds. The last date to apply for the Andhra Pradesh LAWCET Exam was April 6, 2026. Earlier, the conducting body closed the registration window on March 20, 2026 for without late payment option.

It is a moderately difficult exam with some Easy sections in it. As it carries NO negative marking, candidates find it easy to appear for compared to other Law entrance exams. 

The AP LAWCET 2026 exam was held on May 4, 2026.  The candidates had to register online for the exam using their registered email ID and password. The registered candidates were issued the hall ticket to appear for the exam.

AP LAWCET question paper consists of 120 objective-type questions. These 120 questions are divided into three sections. These sections are General Knowledge and Mental Ability, Current Affairs, and Aptitude for the Law Study. The marks distribution for each section is different. General Knowledge and Mental Ability, Current Affairs, and Aptitude for Law Study contain 30, and 60 marks, respectively. As a result, the Aptitude for Law Strudy section carries the most weightage in the Andhra Pradesh LAWCET exam.

Questions in the Andhra Pradesh LAWCET Exam are broadly asked from three subjects: General Knowledge and Mental Ability, Current Affairs and Aptitude for the Study of Law. Thus, Andhra Pradesh LAWCET candidates need to cover these four subjects while preparing for the Andhra Pradesh LAWCET exam. They need to focus on the preparation of the Aptitude for Study of Law subject because it carries the maximum weightage of 60 marks in the Andhra Pradesh LAWCET test.
