KEAM 2025 Counselling
Counselling: Jul ' 25 - Aug ' 25
After the announcement of KEAM results, candidates whose names appear in the rank list released by CEE can participate in the KEAM counselling process. KEAM counselling process is held in three rounds along with one mop-up round. Through KEAM counselling candidates are allotted seats based on their preferences and the availability of seats in a particular college and course. KEAM 2025 counselling is called the centralised admission process.
The counselling process includes:
- KEAM 2025 option registration
- Trial / provisional allotment
- Final KEAM allotment of seats
- Payment of admission fees at the allotted colleges and document verification
The Centralised Allotment Process will be done through the Single Window System (SWS) to give allotments to the various courses and colleges under the State's Engineering/ Architecture/ Pharmacy/Medical streams. This is a system of ‘Allotments through Online Submission of Options’. The options are the willingness of a candidate who qualified with a rank in the rank lists of KEAM-2025 to join a course-college combination prioritised as per his/her aspiration and desire.
Seats in Government/Aided/KAU/KVASU/KUFOS/government cost-sharing/ Private Self Financing/Autonomous Colleges to be allotted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations are included in the CAP. They are done as per the provisions of allotment.
Commonly asked questions
Candidates can register KEAM option by entering the option number for a course-college combination the candidate can fix their preference numbers for the course-college combinations displayed in the Option Registration Page. Here all the eligible options of the candidate will be displayed coursewise and the candidate is expected to enter their preference number for a particular combination.
A candidate may change their KEAM option priority any number of times within the time schedule permitted. The priority of options registered and saved at the time of closing of the facility for registering options alone will be considered for processing. No candidate will be allowed to register options afresh to any stream at any stage after the stipulated time as notified by the CEE. The option list once finalized cannot be augmented after the stipulated time for registering options. But the modification of the option list will be allowed only for cancellation/deletion and for re- arrangement of priority of options at the time specified in the notification by the CEE.
All eligible options of the candidate will be displayed on the KEAM 2023 Option Registration Page. The candidate may follow the directions given therein to register the options. The data entered may be saved regularly by clicking the ‘Save’ button, so that the data already entered is not lost due to unexpected reasons. The candidate should enter only those options in which they are interested. Candidates should also note that they will be considered for allotment only to those courses and colleges opted by them. So, a candidate who has not opted for a course-college combination will not be considered for allotment for that combination. Existing options, registered by the candidate which is available in the Option Registration Page, can be cancelled by clicking on the corresponding 'Delete' button. Changes (including deletions) made in the option list must be saved (by clicking on the SAVE button) before leaving the option registration page. All the valid options registered by the candidate will be processed. If a candidate gets allotted a particular seat, based on his/her option, he/she is bound to accept it, failing which, they will lose that allotment as well as all the existing options in the stream to which the allotment belongs. The options once lost will not be available in the subsequent phases.

Until 2023, KEAM was held in pen and paper based test format. There were 2 papers - paper 1 was Physics and Chemistry and the paper 2 was Maths. Each question carried 4 marks and any wrong attempt led to -1 marking. Each paper has 120 questions and carried 480 marks in total. The time duration for each paper was 150 minutes.
KEAM computer-based test (CBT) is an examination administered and taken on a computer or a computerised device. Test questions and answer options are presented on a computer screen, and the candidate responds using input devices such as a mouse or keyboard. The exam is timed, requiring candidates to complete the test within the specified duration. The transition of KEAM exam from traditional pen-and-paper formats to computer-based formats has been accelerated by the widespread adoption of technology and its efficiency, impacting entrance exams and certification processes.
KEAM CBT is much more efficient as compared to the offline exam. The post-examination process takes less time like answer key release and result declaration. Until last year over three to four weeks were required to scan the OMR sheets. Now, asfter KEAM computer-based, evaluation becomes faster with the scores being made available to the candidates in the shortest time.
In 2024, KEAM transitioned form a pen and paper based test to a computer based test. The exam started to be conducted in phases, as it would not be possible to arrange over 1.2 lakh computer terminals at the same time. Since the exam is now held in shifts, normalisation of scores for engineering and pharmacy exams has been introduced. Alo the syllabus of the KEAM exam has been changed in 2024. The new revised syllabus must be downloaded from the KEAM official website and used for the exam preparation.
