Candidates seeking admission to BSc at Panjab University are required to meet the eligibility criteria. Candidates must have passed the Class 12 examination with at least 40% aggregate in the qualifying exam and passing marks in English.

Student must have out of the three elective subjects offered by him/ her (excepting Anthropology) passed at least two Science subjects. Provided that a student shall be eligible to opt the subject of:

• CS, if he/ she has passed Class 12 with Physics, Commerce/ Economics/ Mathematics and Computer-related subjects such as CS/ IT etc. as one of the elective or optional subjects.
• Biochemistry, if he/ she has passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology
• A student may opt for CS in BSc (Non-Medical) as one of the elective subjects with the combination of Mathematics, Physics, CS.

Punjab University offers scholarships to the BSc programme students who are meritorious or who belong to categories. These scholarships are offered by the University, UGC as well as by various departments of the Government. PUCHD BSc scholarships can be availed by minority category students, PwD students, SC, OBC and Economically Backward class category students.

 Panjab University BSc admission is entrance-based. The applicants only have to pass Class 12 with relevant subjects to be eligibile for admission. The final selection is based on the entrance exam score. Hence, candidates scoring less than 50% in Class 12 are eligible to apply for the course. But, they will have to clear the qualifying exam cut-off. In case someone fails to secure a seat at Panjab University for BSc, they can still pursue BSc at other colleges/universities offering the course.  For a few courses, such as MA, BA, MLib, etc., admissions are completely based on merit in the last qualifying examination. Students must go through the Panjab University CHD-conducted/ national-level entrances and then appear for the university-level selection rounds for final admission at Panjab University.

Panjab University also gives UG courses, Postgraduate and Doctoral courses all in full-time basis. The University provides courses of BSc, BTech, BA, MA, MSc, MTech, and PhD programs including Business and Management Studies, Accounting and Commerce, Arts (Fine/ Visual/ Performing), Design, Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences etc. The University has the courses which last between 20 days and 5 years. In addition, the fee structure of the Panjab University has such tuition fees that range between INR 160 to INR 17.6 Lakh. In conclusion, the University provides classes in a very low cost.

Yes, Punjab University does offer Scholarships for ST/SC category. The scholarship are offered keeping the following criteria in consideration:

• Those Students belonging to OBCs so specified in relation to the state/Union Terrritory to which the applicant actually belongs, i.e. is permanently settled, who have passed the Matriculation
• Students who have secured minimum 50% or equivalent grade
• Students belonging to Scheduled Caste and special grants to girls belonging to Scheduled Castes.
