As mentioned above, admission to BE at Panjab University is subject to a valid score in JEE Main exam followed by JAC Chandigarh Counselling. All the affiliated colleges of Panjab University offering BTech are part of JAC Chandigarh counselling. Hence, the selection criteria of PU BTech is completed via JAC Chandigarh Counselling. To add, the university also conducts and considers the scores of PU LEET and PU MEET scores for lateral entry admissions. Additionally, Panjab University conducts the PULEET exam for admission to the second year of BTech. However, for first-year BTech students, the university considers the scores of JEE Main followed by JAC counselling. All the affiliated colleges of Panjab University offering BTech are part of JAC Chandigarh counselling. Hence, the selection criteria of PU BTech is JEE Main followed by JAC Chandigarh Counselling. 

Punjab University offers a four-year BE programme across eight specialisations along with an Integrated BE (Chemical) - MBA programme. Admission to both programmes is based on JEE Main. To add, the university also conducts and considers the scores of  PU LEET and PU MEET scores for lateral entry admissions. The minimum eligibility for BE and Integrated courses is Class 12 with PCM subjects from a recognised board as per JAC Chandigarh eligibility criteria. Panjab University Chandigarh BTech is a UG level programme, offered in full-time mode. The University offers BTech in various specialisations such as Chemical Engineering, CSE, Food Technology, Mechanical Engineering, EEE and many others. Admission to any of the specialisations is offered based on merit and entrance. Therefore, candidates must qualify Class 12 with a minimum aggregate of 50% and secure valid scores in accepted entrance exams such as JEE Main, JAC Chandigarh, PSEB 12 etc.. The fee structure of BTech contains tuition fees ranging from INR 92.5 K to INR 6.2 Lakh. For the total course fees, candidates must enquire about the hostel fees, one-time payment and various other components.

 For a few courses, such as MA, BA, MLib, etc., admissions are completely based on merit in the last qualifying examination. Students must go through the Panjab University CHD-conducted/ national-level entrances and then appear for the university-level selection rounds for final admission at Panjab University.

After JEE session 2 is completed, only those candidates who are aiming for IITs need to start preparing for JEE Advanced after clearing JEE Main.
