Decent faculty members, Ample placement opportunities in general, Good infrastructure.
Placements: Compared to our previous batch, the placements have reduced. I would say about 80% percent of the students have got placed this year. The highest salary package was offered by Amazon with a whooping 27 lacs per annum this time and last time it was Paypal with 21 lacs per annum. Large number of companies have visited the campus. TCS, IBM, Zoho, Freshdesk, Accenture, Amazon, Paypal, Wipro, Gofrugal, TEMENOS, Microsoft are the notable ones and many more came. Majority of the companies were IT services offering the post of Associate. A few core companies related to respective departments apart from IT, CSE and ICT like Saint Gobin, Super Gas also visited the campus. There are ample opportunities for a CS Department in general since the majority companies visited are IT. Students can apply for internship preferrably during semester holidays. Also, final year students who got placed are given the opportunity to do internship in the company they got placed with their consent. In general anybody can apply for internship. Also, SASTRA offers SAP programme whereby students do Internships abroad. From this, I can say selecting SASTRA as your college to pursue your undergraduate degree would be a good choice.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is one of the coolest. Every department has a seperate building with more than sufficient classrooms and lab facilities are good as well. Wi-Fi speed is pretty decent which is accessible both at Department building and
Hostel. Seperate hostels for boys and girls, well maintained. Mess food is pretty okay which is the only drawback if you ask me but the remaining is good. We also have a clinic at our place for students who can't afford to travel to Trichy or Thanjavur if they get sick. There is seperate gym too for boys and girls. And students who are good at sports have a good opportunity to showcase their talent. Also, if students wish to do research, we have seperate research facilities where they are given a chance to quench their thirst for research. To me personally, I didn't face any major issues regarding infrastructure. I was pretty satisfied with the available facilities.
Faculty: Faculty members are excellent but then again I am generalizing. Still, they have great knowledge on the subject and the classes will be interactive for the most part. Some faculty members use blackboard and some use PPT based on students' request. Usually, the ratio will be 60 students to one staff mostly. Plus, the course curriculum was kind of useful bringing in related topics. I found it helpful.
Other: The events in our college include Colloseum ( sports fest ), Daksh ( Tech. Fest ), Kurukshastra ( Cultural fest ). Students who top the academic list would be listed in Dean's list and be awarded cash prizes. No ragging whatsoever and you will be penalized if did. Overall, SASTRA is one place you won't regret if that's what you want to opt out.

Placements are good. But for power systems, as far as I know, only Tata power used to come. I don't know if they are coming for this academic year.
