The real truth of SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai - Vadapalani Campus.

Placements: As of last year, in CSE, from 160-170 students, 80-90 applied for placements, and 38 students got placed. The highest package is 52 LPA, and the 2nd highest package is 25.5 LPA. The placement system is simple, and students need a minimum CGPA to sit in placements. We get opportunities to apply to multiple companies by sending our resume and attending interviews.

Infrastructure: There is a good canteen on the ground floor in which both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food is available, but on two different sides, which is a good sign for vegetarian students. It is a one-building college. It has good classrooms and labs, etc., with AC. All departments are in separate areas.

Faculty: Teachers are always helpful and approachable at any time. CTS happens every month, which constitutes the internal marks and keeps students focused. If they fail or miss any of them, we might see some GPA difference in the end. There are 60 marks internals and more than 40 marks for the end semester exams.

Other: There are 5 clubs in the CSE department, which allow students to join. Clubs are organised by students, and they organise multiple events with cash prizes to entertain students while being under the pressure of studies.

Review of SRM IST Chennai, Vadapalani Campus.

Placements: Many companies come to SRM for placements. SRM guarantees 100% placements. Companies like Amazon, Google, Cisco, SAP Labs, etc., come here. The average package offered is 5 LPA. The highest package is 39 LPA. Many students got paced as system admin.

Infrastructure: The classrooms have good infrastructure. SRM Vadapalani being a city campus, transportation is easier when compared to other campuses. Labs are well maintained. One disadvantage of this campus is there is no better infrastructure for sports. Canteens are well maintained, and the food is completely hygienic.

Faculty: Being a deemed university, the teaching quality of our faculty is good. Teachers are highly qualified. They provide good knowledge that gives us industry ideas on starting a project and what all should be done during a project.

Other: This college has a pool of great people. Hence, you will find a very good network of students working on amazing projects and technologies, but the faculty members and management make it harder for any students to innovate. This college doesn't even have its own entrepreneurship cell, so that is how dedicated they are to support new ideas. The facilities for co-curricular and extracurricular activities are very poor. Sports facilities are not available.
