A few university-affiliated colleges accept department-specific entrance tests or conduct GDPI for admission to MA. The University of Mumbai offers two-year MA and MA (Hons) programmes in multiple specialisations to students at the postgraduate level. Out of these, MA General has 27 specialisations under it, namely Hindi, History, Economics and Arabic, among others.
