
UPES DAT Exam Pattern 2025 - The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) is responsible for drafting the exam pattern for UPES DAT 2025.
The exam pattern will provide insights into the UPES DAT 2025 question paper structure, including details like exam duration, mode of the exam, types of questions asked, marking scheme, and weightage. The exam will be conducted online and include objective-type questions; the test duration will be 1 hour.

UPES DAT 2025: Browser Requirements for the test
Before starting the UPES DAT exam, candidates should check the following things:
- Internet connectivity of more than 100 kbps.
- Update your browser and disable the pop-up blocker. On Windows, to disable the pop-up block on Firefox: Go to ‘Tools’ -> Select ‘Options’ -> Click ‘Content’ tab and then un-check ‘Block Pop-up windows’ check box.
- Uninstall any third-party software controlling your webcam before starting the test.
- Your webcam should be functional.
- Turn off chat (Google talk, Yahoo messenger, etc), antivirus, auto-updates, and other notifications.
- Ensure you have the latest version of JAVA.
- Firefox – 11 or above (Recommended)
- IE 9 or above
UPES DAT 2025: Portfolio requirements
The portfolio requirements for BDes candidates during the interview are given below:
- Bring your hand-drawn sketches/renderings using simple Pencils, color markers/pencils, or any other media such as charcoal, natural dyes, etc. These could be of any everyday object, nature, symbolic, or experimental ones.
- Photography: You can showcase your photography skills and present pictures/images clicked by you OR in case you have done any experimentation on Digital media – Drawing, sketching, and rendering using digital media, tools, and techniques (2 dimensional, 3 dimensional).
- Bring any Physical Model / Prototype - i.e., something made out of Clay, Plastic, Wood, Card Board, etc.
- Apart from the above, you can also bring in anything on which you have done some experiment to express/taste your creative skills,
- Certificates of Competitions / any special mention – for example, class competitions, etc. (if any)
Portfolio requirements for MDes:
- Drawing, sketching, and rendering by hand using a variety of techniques and media, including color markers and color pencils (10-15 pages)
- Digital work (software) – Drawing, sketching, and rendering using digital media, tools, and techniques (2 dimensional, 3 dimensional)
- Physical Model / Prototype - fabrication/construction
