The General AI quota candidates have the JEE Advanced last-round closing ranks ranging between 623 and 9178 for BTech admission. Among all the BTech specialisations, CSE was the most competitive, with a closing rank of 623 to get into IIT Guwahati. The first-round cutoff for the same stood at 607.

For the General category students in the AI quota, the JEE Advanced first-round closing ranks varied between 607 and 8400. During the last round, the cutoff ranks ranged between 623 and 9178. Comparing the first round with the last round, the cutoff ranks saw a shift in its closing ranks for BTech admission in 2024. For CSE admission, the JEE Advanced first and last-round closing ranks stood at 607 and 623, respectively. For DS and AI the last-round cutoff was 995, while the first-round cutoff stood at 970 for the students belonging to the General AI quota. Among the OBC category students, the IIT Guwahati CSE cutoff 2024 was 330 in the first round, while in the last round, the closing rank stood at 364 for admission. CSE was the most in-demand BTech specialisation, followed by Data Science and Artificial Intelligence and Mathematics and Computing Engineering. The JEE Advanced last-round closing ranks for both these courses were 479 and 614, respectively.

Whether 50 in UCEED a good rank for IIT Guwahati depends on the category the student belongs to. For students belonging to the General AI category, the cutoff rank in round 1 was 77. Therefore, attaing a rank of 50 can secure a seat at the college, for the General AI category candidates. Among the OBC AI category students, the cutoff rank was closed at 44. Thus, for the OBC AI category candidates, it is not possible to get a seat at the college with 50 rank in UCEED. For the EWS category students, the JEE Advanced last-round closing ranks ranged between 128 and 1522, of which Computer Science and Engineering was the most desirable course in the AI quota. Therefore, candidates belonging to the OBC AI category must have a rank of 44 or below to get a sea at BDes in IIT Guwahati. In 2024 and 2023, the cutoff rank for the same category stood at 46 and 42, respectively in the first round. This shows a fluctuating trend in the cutoff rank since the past three years.
