IIT Guwahati Cutoff 2024: Check Category-Wise JEE Advanced Cutoff Ranks

IIT Guwahati offers admission to various UG and PG course specialisations based on different national-level exams. For instance, BTech admission is based on JEE Advanced ranks. For BDes admission, UCEED ranks are considered. For MSc admission, the institute considers IIT JAM scores. The cutoff for these exams is released based on categories. 

Given below are the last round cutoff range for various exams accepted by the institute concerning the General AI category:

JEE Main cutoff range - 792-10727

IIT JAM cutoff range - 61-268

UCEED cutoff - 96

Admission to M.Tech at IITG is entirely based on GATE score. Candidates with a GATE rank between 600 and 800 and a score between 400 and 800 will have a good chance for getting admitted in an MTech course at IITG. However, as the cutoff marks change for every admission year, hence, the number can vary. A relaxation in the required cutoff is given to the candidates belonging to reserved categories.

For the SC category students under the AI quota, the JEE Advanced Round 1 cutoff 2026 ranged from 1191 to 1948, including BTech core branches, such as Civil, Chemical and Mechanical Engineering. Considering the first round cutoff, candidates are advised to target a lower cutoff than the one mentioned here to get admission to BTech core branches at IIT Guwahati. Whether 50 in UCEED a good rank for IIT Guwahati depends on the category the student belongs to. For students belonging to the General AI category, the cutoff rank in round 1 was 77. Therefore, attaing a rank of 50 can secure a seat at the college, for the General AI category candidates. Among the OBC AI category students, the cutoff rank was closed at 44. Thus, for the OBC AI category candidates, it is not possible to get a seat at the college with 50 rank in UCEED. Similarly, for other categories also, it is difficult as the rank required is quite lower. 

IIT Guwahati JEE Advanced 2025 cutoffs have been published for admission to various BTech programmes. In Round 6, JEE Advanced cutoffs for 2025 varied between the 792 and 2195 values. Notably, the BTech in CSE is highly competitive among General category students under the All India Quota, with a the lowest Round 6 cutoff rank of 792.

You need to score a rank of at least 77, according to the IIT Guwahati UCEED cutoff 2026 for the third round. This is the cutoff for the General AI category.

Candidates with BTech or BE/ MCA/ MSc/ Graduation (AMIETE) with 60% aggregate or 6.0 CPI are eligible for the M.Tech in IIT Guwahati. Further, there is 0.5% CPI or 5% marks relaxation for SC/ST/PwD category candidates. Candidates must also have valid score in the national level exam GATE exam and they must also participated in the COAP Counselling (GATE not required for the sponsored category). 

IIT Guwahati cutoff 2024 was released upto five rounds, wherein, B.Tech. in Biosciences and Bioengineering Last Round was, 9178 for General category candidates at IIT Guwahati - Indian Institute of Technology. For female candidates in general category under All India quota, 17156 was the closing rank. B.Tech cut off varies depending on the category and domicile/quota of the applicant.

Considering the Last Round rank for General AI category, it can be observed that BTech in Biosciences and Bioengineering had shown a fluctuating trend over the past three years.

Qualifying marks for JEE Mains 2026, also called qualifying percentile for JEE Mains will be announced by the NTA along with the JEE Main 2026 session 2 result. Candidates must note that qualifying percentile for JEE Mains 2026 is the minimum percentile required to appear in JEE Advanced 2026. For admission to NIT or IIITs, there is no provision of qualifying marks in JEE Mains 2026 and admission is given based on All India Rank in JEE Mains exam. NTA will announce JEE Mains 2026 All India rank in April after session 2 exam results. 

The cutoff trend for BTech in Engineering Physics at IIT Guwahati - Indian Institute of Technology has been increasing in recent years. In 2021, the closing rank for BTech in Engineering Physics under the General category for all India quota was 5956. In 2022, it increased to 6192. Likewise, the cut off ranks have changed from 3105 to 3284 for OBC, 1905 to 1922 for SC, 1905 to 1101 for ST, 1118 to 1251 for EWS. This trend is likely to continue in the coming years, as the demand for engineering education in India continues to grow. Similar cut off trend can be seen for female candidates under all categories however the ranks are slightly different.

If you belong to the General AI category, the UCEED Round 1 cutoff 2026 for B.Des admission was 77. The cutoff rank depends on the round and category. Therefore, candidates must target a lower cutoff rank to have a better chance of securing a seat at IIT Guwahati.
