B.P.ED Admission 2025: Registration, Qualification, Selection Process

B.P.Ed Admission 2025 is based on both the entrance and Class 12 scores. Candidates who are interested in physical fitness and education can apply for this course. Candidates should pass Class 12 with 50% to be eligbile for the B.P.Ed course. Exams are CUET and PET. Popular are BHU Varanasi, DU, Mumbai University, etc. The fee can range around approx. INR 50,000 to INR 2 Lakh.

BPEd Eligibility

  • Class 12 (usually 45 percent - 60 percent) 
  • Preference given to sport-inclined students 
  • 17 years old

The exam is divided into three sections namely, Language consisting of Reading Comprehension,  Literary Aptitude, and Vocabulary; Domain Subject and General Test consisting of General Knowledge, Current Affairs, General Mental Ability, Numerical Ability, Quantitative Reasoning (Simple application of basic mathematical concepts arithmetic/algebra geometry/mensuration/stat taught till Grade 8), Logical and Analytical Reasoning

Q. Can I pursue BPEd from Delhi University?

A. BPED course can be pursued from Delhi University under Indira Gandhi Institute of Physical Education and Sports Science. Candidates who have completed Class 12th can pursue this course, and their marks secured in Physical Education shall be considered in order to finalise the merit list. They have to also appear the CUET-UG entrance examination in order to be eligible for the course. Candidates must prepare for the entrance examination as well as demonstrate sports proficiency in order to secure admission.

The candidates have to also ensure that they clear management entrance examinations such as CAT/GMAT/MAT etc. and clear personal interview, in order to be eligible for the course. Q. When is the last date to apply for TS PECET?

A. Telangana State Council for Higher Education conducts TS PECET which is a common entrance test to admit students in Physical Education courses. Those who wish to pursue BPEd or DPEd in the state of Telangana can appear in this examination. The registrations for this exam were conducted between 15th March-6th May 2023 and the admit card shall be released during May-June 2023. The exam shall be conducted between 1 Jun '23 - 10 Jun '23. As per the cutoff, results shall be declared in the month of June itself.

Q. What is the eligibility criteria to pursue MPEd?

A. MPEd is a postgraduate course and a popular option amongst BPEd graduates. Many candidates either gather few years of experience in teaching or sports training field and work with various schools and colleges before pursuing MPEd. To pursue MPEd, candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in Physical Education from a recognised university and must secure minimum 50% marks. Many institutes conduct postgraduate entrance exam such as CUET-PG along with physical fitness assessment in order to admit candidates for this course.

Q. Should I pursue BEd or BPEd?

A. Since both the courses are offered in the field of education, candidates are always in a conundrum as to which course they must choose. But the major difference between BEd and BPEd is that BEd course makes on eligible to become teacher whereas BPEd course makes one eligible to become a sports teacher or physical education teacher. Therefore, the element of sports or physical education is a primary factor in BPEd and those candidates who wish to enter into the fitness or sports teaching industry must surely pursue BPEd.

For Admission into a Good B.P.ED Collage, you need to crack entrance exams like LPUPET, Andhra Pradesh PECET, and TS PECET and  need a 12th-grade degree in any subject with at least 50% marks from a recognised university. For B.P.Ed courses, it's essential that the institution is approved by the NCTE. Some Colleges also conduct Practical Exams to test the fitness of the Candidates. B.P.Ed admissions are usually held between April and June.
