IPMAT 2026 Exam Dates (OUT): Get IIM Indore IPMAT Application & Exam Schedule

Yes, there is maximum age limit to appear for the IPMAT exam. The students appearing for the IPMAT exam must be a maximum of 20 years of age as of July 31, of the given year. The IPMAT exam is open to students who have recently passed Class 12 or are still awating the Class 12 results. IPMAT is conducted by IIM Indore and is accepted by some of the top institutes such as IIM Indore, IIFT, Nirma University, IIM Ranchi, Alliance University, NICMAR and NALSAR University. • Candidate needs to generate a User ID and password using details such as name, date of birth, mobile number, email ID, etc. 

• This User ID and password will also be sent to candidate through registered email and SMS

• Next, the candidate needs to relogin using login details

• Pay registration fee through a Credit or Debit Card or internet Banking

• Candidates belonging to reserved categories need to submit valid and attested certificates supporting their reservation category 

IPMAT exam is conducted only once every year. The exam is conducted in CBT test mode for IPM programme. IPMAT 2026 exam will be conducted on May 4, 2026.

 Take a print out of the IPMAT admit card as this is an important document which is to be carried to the IPMAT exam centre.

Every candidate must carry a simple blue/black ball point pen and a two copies of their passport size photo to the IPMAT exam centre. They must not carry any stationary item other than the pen. Ever since the COVID-19 outbreak, IPMAT candidates are required to carry drinking water, hand sanitizer, face mask and gloves along with them. They have to carry drinking water in a transparent bottle. No other item will be allowed inside the exam venue. They also must not carry bags or valuables as there will be no arrangement for depositing while candidates appear for the exam. Candidates must also not carry notebooks or rough paper to the IPMAT exam centre. Any candidate found with an unauthorised item will be disqualified.

IPMAT result 2026 is expected to be released in the first week of June 2026. Scorecard for IPMAT exam will be available on the IIM Indore website. The IPMAT result card will be available on the official website only and the candidates will be able to check their result using their login details. The exam will be conducted on May 4, 2026.

Candidates appearing for the IPMAT exam for admission to the five-year integrated programme in management, must have a good percentile to clear the cutoff of IIM Indore. The validity of IPMAT score is one year and students will be offered admission to colleges accepting IPMAT scores through their IPMAT result. To gain admission, candidates need to match the cutoff criteria of their preferred institute. The IPMAT exam has 100 questions and the total marks are 400. But, the raw scores are then scaled and the composite scores are calculated. Knowing what is a good score in IPMAT exam is subjective, however, the current trends suggest that the following will be considered a good score with 90-100% accuracy:

1. Quantitative Aptitude (MCQs): 18-20 questions
2. Quantitative Aptitude (SA): 9-10 questions
3. Verbal Ability: 38-42 questions

Based on the scores obtained in the IPMAT exam, the candidates will be called for the PI round of the selection procedure conducted by IIM Indore.

IPMAT counselling is held for students who have cleared IPMAT exam and have been shortlisted for PI. They should have:

• Qualify IPMAT exam
• Complete Class 10 and 12 from a recognised board
• All nationality students can apply for IPMAT counselling
• Students should have all documents required for verification round proving their eligibility

Total score in IPMAT Indore varies from 360 to 400. The IPMAT exam will have 90 to 100 questions and each question carries four marks. 

The IPMAT admissions are based on the IPMAT entrance exam and the counselling process which includes a Personal Interview. Candidates who qualify the IPMAT exam have to take part in the further admission process. The composite score is the sum of the score obtained by the candidate in the IPMAT exam as well as PI. IPMAT exam pattern is as follows:

IPMAT score is calculated based on correct answers marked by students in IPMAT exam. Raw score of candidates is scaled to calculate composite score. Candidates who match IPMAT cutoff criteria are further called for Personal Interview round. 

For final results, 65% weightage is given to scores in IPMAT exam and 35% weightage is given to performance in Personal Interview.
