IPMAT 2026 exam date is May 4, 2026. The exam will be conducted in the computer-based test mode in the afternoon shift. The IPMAT registration 2026 will likely begin in the month of February 2026. IPMAT is conducted by the Indian Institute of Management, Indore. The exam was earlier conducted and accepted by only IIM Indore for admission to its give year intergrated programme in management. In 2022, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade started accepting IPMAT scores for admission to its integrated MBA programme. From the year 2023 onwards, many other institutes were added to the list which will also accept IPMAT scores conducted by IIM Indore.
Institutes such as the Indian Institute of Ranchi, Alliance University, NICMAR University, Department of Management Studies, NALSAR University of Law and Institute of Management, Nirma University will also accept IPMAT scores for admission to the Integrated Programme in Management (IPM). Other institutes which will accept IPMAT scores include IIM Amritsar, IIT Mandi, JAGSsom, etc.
IPMAT (Integrated Program in Management Aptitude Test) is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the prestigious Indian Institute of Management, Indore, for admission to integrated MBA programme offered by the institute. The exam pattern for IPMAT is as follows:
Section 1: Verbal Ability: This section tests the candidate's English language skills. It consists of 50 MCQs. The section tests the candidate's understanding of topics such as Grammar, Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, etc.
Section 2: Quantitative Aptitude: This section tests the candidate's quantitative skills. It consists of 25 MCQs and the second part of this section carries 25 short answer type questions. The section tests the candidate's knowledge of topics such as Arithmetic, Algebra Geometry, Trigonometry etc.
For each correct answer, candidates will be awarded four marks each and for every incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted from the overall score. This means, if the candidate has got ten correct answers, then, he/she will be awarded 40 marks in the total score. The IPMAT question paper has sectional timing of 40 minutes per section which the students must adhere to.

IPMAT Eligibility Criteria 2026
Applicants must fulfil the IPMAT eligibility criteria given below in order to appear for the IPMAT exam:
- Applicants must have a minimum of 60% aggregate in Class 10 and Class 12 or equivalent CGPA in the case of the General and NC OBC categories.
- Applicants belonging to SC, ST or PwD (DA) categories must have secured at least 55% aggregate or equivalent CGPA in Class 10 and Class 12.
- Applicants must have passed the qualifying exam in the years 2024, and 2025 or appearing in 2026.
- Applicants in the final year of Class 12 or awaiting the results are also eligible to apply provisionally.
IPMAT Registration 2026
IPMAT registration process 2026 will be completely online. The IIM Indore IPMAT application form 2026 will be available online on the official website of IIM Indore. There is no provision of applying offline for the IPMAT Indore exam.
Documents Required for IPMAT Exam Registration
The following documents will be required for IPMAT registration 2026:
- Scanned or digital copy photograph and signature
- Digitally scanned copy of the latest OBC (Non-creamy) / SC / ST / DAP category certificate as applicable
- Scanned copy of mark sheet of Class 10 and Class 12
- Credit/ Debit card/ internet banking details to pay the fees online
- Valid government-issued ID proof. Students can choose any one of the following:
- Voter ID
- Aadhar Card
- Driving License
- Pan Card
- Passport
The images to be uploaded in the IPMAT application form should be in JPEG, JPG, or PNG format and the file format should be as mentioned in the IPM Indore brochure. It is important to carefully read the instructions given on the website before filling the IIM Indore registration form to ensure that you provide all the necessary documents and in the correct format and size.
Note: Students applying for the IPMAT 2026 exam must use Google Chrome (version 58 and above), Mozilla Firefox (version 52 and above) or Internet Explorer (version 10 and above) to fill the IPMAT application form for smooth flow of filling the form.

How to Fill the IIM Indore IPMAT Application Form 2026?

- Go to the website of IIM Indore, iimidr.ac.in
- Click on registration link for IPMAT 2026
- Student needs to generate a User ID and password
- This User ID and password will also be sent to the student through registered email and SMS
- Next, they need to re login using the login details
- Then enter the details in the application form. Students must ensure that they enter the correct details as it cannot be changed later
- Pay the registration fee through a Credit Card, Debit Card or Net Banking
- Students belonging to reserved categories need to submit valid and attested certificates supporting their reservation category
IPMAT 2026 Application Fee
Students who successfully fill the IPMAT application form have to make the registration fee payment online to complete the application process. The IPMAT registration fee will not be efundable and can be paid online only through a debit card, credit card, internet baking, mobile banking or UPI. IPMAT Syllabus 2026
IPMAT 2026 syllabus includes topics on two important topics, i.e. Quantitative Aptitude and Verbal Ability. The IPMAT Indore question paper is based on topics from these two sections, and to ace the IIM Indore IPMAT exam, students need to study the topics and sub topics of the IPMAT exam syllabus.
Quantitative Ability section will be divided into two sections and will have questions based on Class 9 to Class 12 mathematics. The questions will be based on QA topics such as Percentage, Profit and Loss, Discount, Time and Work, Probability, Number System, Time, Speed and Distance, Algebra, Permutation and Combination, Mixtures and Allegations, Data Interpretation, Simple and Linear Equations, etc.

Verbal Ability section will have topics on Grammar, Para Jumbles, Synonyms and Antonyms, Phrases, Reading Comprehension, Analogy, Error Spelling, Vocabulary, Articles, Fill in the blanks, etc.
Just like other management entrance exams, the Verbal Skills section is divided into Reading Comprehension and Verbal Ability/English Usage. There are about four to five comprehension passages while the topics of English usage are as follows:

The IPMAT question paper is divided into three sections, i.e. Quantitative Aptitude, Quantitative Aptitude (Short-answers) and Verbal Ability. Two sections carry multiple-choice questions and one Quantitative Aptitude section has short-answer type questions. Each question carries four marks. One mark will be deducted from the total score for each incorrect answer. The students have to complete the exam within two hours or 120 minutes. Given below is the number of questions in each section:
- Verbal Ability- 50 multiple choice questions
- Quantitative Aptitude- 25 multiple choice questions
- Quantitative Aptitude- 25 short answer type questions
There is total of 100 questions which are divided across the IPMAT question paper. They are to be solved within the sectional time limit.
The IPMAT exam is conducted for two hours or 120 minutes. The exam is conducted every year in the computer-based test mode. There are three sections in the IPMAT question paper, I. e. two sections on Quantitative Aptitude and one section on Verbal Ability. Each section is to be solved within 40 minutes. Since IPMAT is a centre-based online exam the test screen will move from first section to the next section automatically as soon as the time limit gets over. Thus candidates have to be mindful of the on-screen timer and pre-decide the number of questions to solve in each section. It is not mandatory to solve all the questions in IPMAT exam so candidates can devise a strategy to use 40 minutes per section as per their strength and weakness. Candidates must also keep in mind the negative marking in the IPMAT exam. One mark will be deducted from the overall score for each incorrect answer.

IPMAT Indore Exam Preparation 2026
IPMAT exam preparation requires dedication and discipline. Completing the complete IPMAT syllabus is one of the first steps for a good IPMAT preparation plan. Ideally, the students should begin their IPMAT preparation at least six months before the exam date. IPMAT Indore Admit Card 2026

IPMAT 2026 Results
IPMAT 2026 results will likely be announced in the first week of June 2026. IPMAT result will be released in the form of a provisional shortlist of candidates before the final IPMAT Indore results are declared. Candidates will have to appear for a Personal Interview after the final shortlist is released. The students can check their status using their login details, i.e. Application ID and Password created during the registration process.
