It is the 2nd oldest engineering college and the only IIEST in India.
Placements: The batch strength is about 90-95. The placement percentage is above 90%. The highest salary package offered is 32 LPA by Texas Instruments. The lowest salary package offered is around 4 LPA - 5 LPA by TCS. For electrical, CESC, Tata Steel, Texas Instruments, Jindal Steel, etc., visit the college. In core, Google, Microsoft, TCS, Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan, BNy Mellon etc., visit here.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is good but quite old. It is being constantly renovated. There are around 20 hostels with a 1,000 seater and a 10 storeyed. It already completed its construction. The girls' hostels are particularly large with good food. Boys' hostels are average with average food. The exception is on an occasional basis.
Faculty: Exams are easy to pass if we are willing to put in effort, either one night before or throughout the whole semester. Teachers are approachable and quite frankly. They want us to excel no matter what we do in life. The curriculum I would say is a bit outdated though newer technologies are being taught in higher semesters.
Other: I am in electrical engineering. It is the hardest engineering branch. If we can excel, we can get a certificate to excel anything. It holds plenty of quizzes, fests like technical and non-technical, and other events.

Good Quality of Education, Moderate Infrastructure, and Placements, Overall Good College.
Placements: 90% of the batch was placed in different core, IT, and consulting firms. The highest package was 39 Lacs and the lowest was 3.5 Lacs, with an average of 8 LPA. The top recruiting companies were Texas Instruments, TSL, CESC, PWC, ABG, JSL, etc. This year, the placements were a bit low in terms of package compared to previous years. The company's roles varied from company to company, mainly in the roles of GET and design engineers.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is quite good, with well-equipped labs for each department, Wi-Fi available in every building, good air-conditioned classrooms, and a great collection of books in the library. The hostels are not that well-furnished. The condition is quite poor, and the quality of food is not too good for daily consumption. Also, every student cannot be accommodated in the hostel facility because of the limited number of rooms, even though they are planning to build new hostels in the future.
Faculty: The teachers are the most prestigious assets of this institute. A lot of well-experienced, knowledgeable teachers are present in every department who will guide you through the entire 4 years of college life. The assignments were of good number and tested the knowledge of the subject. The semester exams are moderately tough, with some challenging questions and sometimes matched with previous years' papers. The passing percentage is 40.
Other: I had to choose my course because of my JEE rank and the college because of my home place. The campus is full of greenery, and staying near a metropolitan city has its own benefits. The course I chose was electrical, and it has a vast syllabus until the final semester. Some courses were industry-related, and some were a little outdated. Eliminating those will make this course more tangible for all. There are numerous events and fests happening in clubs, hostels, and departments. The cultural fest, Rebecca, which spans 4 days, is the oldest ongoing fest in India.

IIEST- It is India's 2nd oldest engineering college.
Placements: In the Department of Electrical Engineering, around 85% of students get placed every year. The highest salary package offered in our department this year is 37 LPA by Texas Instruments. The average salary package offered is around 7 LPA - 8 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Texas Instruments and Tata Steel. Students got internships at Texas Instruments and ICICI Bank.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure are good. Air-conditioned classrooms are available from the second year. There are 3-4 air conditioners in each room. Computer and simulation labs are fully air-conditioned. The hostel has Wi-Fi. A canteen is available for 1st-year boys. Washing machines are on each floor. There is no electricity bill. We have a table tennis room in the hostel. Students get all sports accessories like badminton, cricket, football, chess, etc. Hostels do not provide air conditioners.
Faculty: Faculty members are very qualified. In our department, most professors are gold medalists and have Ph.D. degrees from foreign. The syllabus of all courses is modern. In each semester, there is one mid-semester and one end-semester. To pass the subject you have to score at least 40 marks out of 80 marks of which 20 marks are internal.
Other: I chose this department because of my interest in electricity and current. The best thing about our course is that from our department, most companies offer placements after the computer science and technology department. There are 13 clubs in our college. The annual fest named Rebecca is held.

Indian institute of Science and technology Shibpur - future IIT.
Placements: Good percentage of students get placed. The lowest package 4 Lacs, the highest 59 Lacs. TI, TCS, Google, Microsoft some in college. There offers good package and good role. About all in 3rd year got internship because it is mandatory to do internship in 3rd year.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is little bit old but still it is good and can be done better. There are required number of classes in the building and seminar hall also for various activities. Overall infrastructure is little bit of good. There are so many hostels are there.
Faculty: Faculty is actually good and supportive. They teaches good things and very much good in their field and do so much of research works. Technology understanding is also good. They are little strict but restriction is good sometimes and it also there. Curriculum is hard.

Overall, there is a balanced college life.
Placements: Approximately 80 percent of students are placed. The highest package is 80 LPA by Atlassian and the average package is approximately 9 to 10 LPA. The top recruiting companies are PWC, Tata Steel, Texas Instruments, JSW, Well Fargo, BNY Mellon, Ericsson, and Accenture. Internships are done by all of the students, including paid and unpaid internships. Companies for internships are Microsoft, PWC, Accenture, Tata Steel, Texas Instruments, Wells Fargo, and BNY Mellon.
Infrastructure: Wi-fi connectivity is good, whether in hostels, labs or libraries. The hostel has somewhat old infrastructure and sometimes you may see some small creatures in the rainy season. The quality of the food is average, and the menu is written by students on a daily basis. A basic medical facility is provided; there are two canteens inside the campus; and there are two fields for outdoor sports and separate courts for volleyball, basketball, and badminton.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified and well trained, and they have immense knowledge. Some teachers don't give marks. The course curriculum is based on the GATE examination and is industry-certified.
4th semester to 6th semester exams are very difficult and to pass, you have to score 40 marks out of a total 100 marks.
Other: I chose this course on the basis of the percentile in the JEE Main examination. The best thing is that other departments' students see us as having respect for us because teachers are much stricter than in any other department. REBECCA is our college's cultural festival, and this year it was the 83rd edition. Other than this, there are many clubs you can join there.

Second oldest engineering college, IIEST, Shibpur.
Placements: About 85% of students in my branch got placed this year. The highest package offered was 28 lacs in my branch offered from Texas Instruments. Top companies like Microsoft, PWC, CSEC, Tata, TCS and many more core and non-core companies visit here. Also, many students get internships during their 5th semester and many also get PPOs directly after their tier internship.
Infrastructure: Our department building is quite old but still very good. Strong Wi-Fi facilities are available in almost all areas. We have a student library named Ramanujan Library, and we have many labs in the respective departments. We have 3 boys hostels for first-year boys; each room has 4 students. Each student gets one bed, one table and one almirah. Mess food is quite good here. We also have free medical facilities for students. All types of games and sports are available at our institute.
Faculty: The teachers here are highly qualified. All are PhDs in their respective subjects. The course curriculum here is very strict, which eventually leads to a better future. We have semester exams every 2 months, midsemester and end semesters. Almost all students pass out of our college.
Other: I chose this course because I had a great interest in the circuital branch. Also, my college is quite famous for its research. We have many fests like Rebeca, Sphuran, Impetus, Nerd corn and many others.

Present condition of 2nd the oldest engineering college of India.
Placements: In my course, about 80-85 percent of the students get placed. Top companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Flipkart, Texas, Tata and many more come to the college. The highest package of the college 55 LPA and the average package goes around 11 LPA. Approximately 40 percent of the students get internship at companies like Texas, Microsoft, Google.
Infrastructure: Classrooms and laboratories in the departments are well-equipped with many facilities. There is a big library, named Ramanujan Central Library having a wide variety of books including academics, personal growth, etc. You will get a four seater room in first year and second year. Halls contains single seater rooms for third and fourth year students. Food is decent in the mess. 24/7 medical facilities is available. You can play all type of games here.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified, knowledgeable and very helpful. Most of the teachers have done Ph.D. Course curriculum is somewhat relevant. The semester exams are not that tough as you have to score only 40 percent of the total marks which you get by a little sincerity and concentration in the class.
Other: I chose this course because this was the best course in the best college I could get at my JEE Main rank. Electrical Engineering is an evergreen branch. The course syllabus is very tough so I think it can be reduced. Fests like REBECA (the largest fest of Kolkata), Impetus, Sphuran, Instruo and events like Nerdcon, Robocon, Treasure Hunt and many more happen in the college. The campus is connected to the railway station like Shalimar, Howrah.

Amazing placements, Well supportive and experienced faculty, and good research opportunities.
Placements: Approximately 90 percent of students got placed. The highest package recorded was 55lpa and average was about 14lpa. Microsoft, Google, TCS, PW, Atlassian were the top recruiters. And about 40percent student got internship in Altassian. Being a circuital branch most get opportunity to work as SWE.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are very well-equipped with all the necessary equipments. A network connectivity of wi -fi is also present in the hostel and in the classes. All the building are newly constructed therefore the facility is of top notch. The quality of the food in the mess and cantoon is quite decent.
Faculty: Teachers are highly and are mainly research oriented. Teaching quality is very good as compared to other nits. Course curriculum is somewhat relevant. Semester exams level are of quite difficult level. So you have to study for passing the sem exams. 40 percent is the pass percentage.
Other: It is an evergreen branch. The syllabus of the course should be reduced somewhat so as to unburden the students. Lots of fests are celebrated in the campus. Rebeca, robocon, nerdcon are the top fest celebrated in the campus.

First of all, you cannot get admission in IIEST Shibpur through WBJEE rank. It intakes students only through JEE Mains. Jadavpur is one of the best engineering colleges in whole India, so you have to get a very good rank to secure admission in it. The cutoffs for last year (after 3rd round) were:

Yes, you can get this college with CS branch but if you might not get this college in the 3-4 round, then you should not lose hope as up till the last round of the counselling you will easily get this college.
