The admission cycle at IITs starts with the release of the NTA notification for JEE Main. As per official suorces, NTA has released the JEE Main notification for BTech admissions at IIT Kharagpur. As per the notification, the JEE Main Session 1 is scheduled to be held in the last week of Jan 2025. Moreover, NTA is expected to conduct this exam in two shifts. Candidates aiming for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) need to meet these cutoff marks in JEE Mains to be eligible for JEE Advanced 2026.
IIT Kharagpur cutoff 2025 was released for admission to BTech(Hons), BSc courses and their specialisations, as well as for the BArch course for all rounds and categories under the All India quota.
The last round cutoff in 2025 ranged from 466 to 19141 for the General AI category students, wherein BTech (Hons) Computer Science and Engineering was the toughest branch to get admission to. On the other hand, the easiest course for admission was the Bachelor of Architecture.

Opening and Closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For General category under All India, opening rank was 19542 and closing rank was 23337. Cut offs are different when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. In All India, opening and closing rank for female candidates was 4579 and 22928. Admission to Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch. Hons.) in IIT Kharagpur - Indian Institute of Technology is based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam JEE Advanced. Applicants are advised to confirm what category are they applying while checking for cut offs.
If you get a good score in the JEE Main, you would then have to pass the exam of JEE Advanced for admission into IIT Kharagpur.
