IIT Madras MTech Eligibility & Highlights 2025
IIT Madras offers an MTech course at the postgraduate level in a full-time mode. The duration of this programme is two years. The institute offers 26 MTech specialisations along with three interdisciplinary specialisations for BE/ BTech graduates across 13 departments. Some of these specialisations include, MTech in Computer Science and Engineering, MTech in Biomedical Engineering, MTech in Aerospace Engineering, etc.
IIT Madras MTech admission 2025 is based on a valid GATE score obtained by eligible candidates. The seat allotment process is then carried out through COAP Counselling. Presently, the Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Madras offers around 100 UG, PG, joint degree, exchange and research programmes. IISc Bangalore conducted the GATE 2024 exam on February 3, 4, 10, and 11, 2024. The GATE 2024 application form was released on 24th August 2024 on the official website at gate.iisc.ac.in. The organising institute for GATE 2024 was IISc Bangalore. The exam was conducted online as a computer-based test for 29 papers. Candidates had to solve 65 questions in 180 minutes (3 hours). To seek admission to the BTech programme offered at IIT Madras, candidates need to visit the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA) and fill out the application form in online mode for JEE Main. Direct admissions are possible in IIT Madras for some Diploma programmes. For other programmes such as UG and PG courses, direct admissions are not available. Students will have to appear for the entrance exam for admission to the available programmes.
