IIT Roorkee MSc Eligibility & Highlights 2026
At the PG level, IIT Roorkee also offers a full-time MSc programme across eight specialisations. The programme is offered for a duration of two years, spread in a semester pattern. Candidates, willing to seek admission, need to appear for an all-India-level online entrance exam, namely IIT JAM. Students may get admission in IIT Roorkee with 80% in Class 12 as the minimum aggregate ranges between 50% to 75% in Class 12 boards. Yes, in order to take admission in IIT Roorkee BSc courses, candidates must first qualify JEE Main. Students who qualify JEE Main are then required to register and appear for JEE Advanced. This exam is conducted by one of the IITs every year by rotation under the supervision of a Joint Admission Board, which comprises of representatives from all the IITs. The last year 2022 cutoff ranks for Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) at IIT Roorkee other than General category are - 5783 for OBC, 3162 for SC, 1382 for ST, 2804 for EWS. No, you cannot apply for B.Des programme at IIT Roorkee even if you have cleared the UCEED Entrance Exam because Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are compulsory subjects in 10+2. But you can apply for B.Des programme at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Indore.

IIT Roorkee doesn't offer PhD in Design course through CEED. It only offers a MDes in Industrial Design. Admission to the M.Des programme will be based on CEED 2026 merit rank. The candidate will have to apply directly to the participating college once results are declared.
