Review of NIT Surathkal - National Institute of Technology.
Placements: All I want to say about placements is that mechanical students tend to get selected more into non-core, management, and other sectors than into core mechanical roles. So, yes, the placements look good on paper, but you need to realize there aren't many jobs available, and even if there are, they don't pay well.
Infrastructure:
The hostels are pretty decent. The first-year boys' hostel is basic, but after that, the second-year Shivalik hostel is basically a hotel. The third and fourth-year single rooms are excellent. I think you won't be disappointed with them. They are better than most government colleges, though they have some issues too.
Faculty: The college offers a basic engineering education. It's the same as every other college, with nothing new an old curriculum that's recycled repeatedly. The teachers try to teach, but their assistants (TAs) often outperform them in teaching quality. It's pretty standard. Like every other college, there's nothing particularly innovative.

It is a awesome college.
Placements: The percentage of students got placed in my college is approximately 97%. The highest package is 52 LPA, the lowest package is 6 LPA, and the average package is 15 LPA-18 LPA. The recruiting companies are too good, and they can achieve bigger and bigger choices.
Infrastructure: Scenic & well-equipped A 295-acre beachside campus featuring private access, lush green zones, and world-class sports facilities including swimming pool, tennis courts, gyms, and stadium. Everything is good, having this kind of college is okay. Mess food is decent.
Faculty: NITK Surathkal is one of India's premier engineering institutions, particularly strong in core and technical branches due to its excellent faculty, research environment, natural campus, and placement success, if you're up for a slightly high. Faculty of AI isn't that good, most we have to do is self-study.
Other: There are no academic or cultural restrictions.

Review of NIT Surathkal - National Institute of Technology.
Placements: In the mechanical engineering branch, the placement percentage is okay and it is 85%. The highest package is 36 LPA and the lowest package is 6 LPA. The average package is 12 LPA, which is decent. Top recruiting companies for our course are Ola, Uber, Flipkart, Amazon, etc. 70% of students get internships if they do well. Many students go into the software field rather than the core field.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. New buildings are still being made and our department is old. Wi-Fi is there and classrooms are old. Tables also look old, but they are still good. The library has all the facilities with all the books. The hostel looks new but the food in the mess is bad. Sometimes, we cannot even eat that. There is one medical center in the middle of campus which is near the boys' and girls' hostels. Sports complex is also there which has all the games and a gym.
Faculty: Our faculty members are well-educated. They have a lot of knowledge but they lack in teaching. The course curriculum is up to date. It is helpful in making students industry-ready for the core jobs. However, students prefer the software field. Semester exams are difficult but can be passed if studied well. The pass percentage is around 95%.

Inside NIT - The beauty to explore.
Placements: I am still in first-year student at NIT, so we do not have any placement sessions yet. But from seniors, we heard that the placements are average and above average. Most mechanical seniors are getting placed in the software field. And I also heard some are pursuing higher studies.
Infrastructure: Our mechanical department building is the largest in NIT. Every department has Wi-Fi connections. We have 2 libraries, one is central library and the other is e-library. There are 3 hostels allotted for 1st-year students, 2 of them are non-vegetarian with triple sharing rooms. The remaining one is vegetarian with double sharing rooms. In every hostel this year, they have added water theater in the bathrooms so that we can enjoy a beach of warm water. Every hostel consists of 3 floors and each floor has water purifier, and this water purifier is regularly maintained.
Faculty: Professors of the core department are all experienced and qualified. Most of them teach well. The course curriculum is very good as of 1st year we learn basics of all departments and drive deeper into our branches from 2nd year. It gives the opportunity to explore. By the end of 4th year, we will be ready for the placements with this curriculum. Some exams are very easy, but some exams are very difficult. Professors try to create their own questions. The passing percentage is around 90%.
Other: This college is different from other colleges. It has got its own private beach (best place to hangout with friends). Yearly it conducts 2 major fests. It is Asia's 2nd largest fest conducted mostly in March, and one more is Engineer, its a technical fest conducted mostly in September. Seniors are also very helpful and friendly. Most of the campus is green. There are many clubs from every field from dance to entrepreneurship, music to coders, etc.

Review of NIT Surathkal - National Institute of Technology.
Placements: Placements are good. The drive starts in February and goes on till April to May. Top companies like Google are top recruiters and I love that. Recently my seniors got placed in Infosys, Grow, etc. Many prestigious unicorn companies have been founded by our alumni.
Infrastructure: The hostel provides two beds and two tables with beautiful scenery. It has a good night canteen. Students must try Shawarma even if they are vegetarian. College classrooms are well-maintained with no CCTV cameras so we can sleep in class and give proxy easily.
Faculty: The course curriculum is very boring and outdated as we are engineers in India. Exams are good in terms of questions and they give 2 marks for index which is very thoughtful and helps students pass if they are going to fail. Getting a decent grade is not that tough if we work hard. Teachers are okay as per my standards.
Other: Bad people do not come here.
