B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering - Batch of 2026

Good placements in 2026 and decent infrastructure.
Placements: In 2026, very new and good companies come for placement and provide good packages. Mainly established private companies visit like Apple, Meesho, Cisco, Growetc, and also government companies like BHEL visit campus for recruitment. Approximately 60% of the batch gets placed.
Infrastructure: Decent to medium infrastructure with all basic requirements filled for the students. All department labs have their Wi-Fi setup, and classrooms have smart monitors for visualization. Now, hostels try to maintain good facilities. The mess is decent, where you can have your lunch, dinner, and breakfast.
Faculty: Teachers are well knowledgeable in their field. They always try to help students move forward with new technology. The curriculum is relevant and ready for industry standards. Many faculty try to teach the updated syllabus, but not every faculty is up to the mark.
Other: Everyone wants CSE, but due to a lower percentile, I get ECE. Mainly, 80% of companies allow this branch to sit for placement. Maintaining a good CGPA is a key factor to getting selected because it helps you on your initial grounds.

Satisfying placement with good infrastructure.
Placements: I am a student of Electronics and Communication Engineering department. In our batch, till now around 50-60 percent students got placed. The highest package is around 40 LPA, the lowest package is 5 LPA, and the average is around 10 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Apple, Meesho, Oracle, ZS Associates, and around 20-30 percent, students got internship. Roles offered are software side only like frontend developer, backend engineer, AI/ML engineer.
Infrastructure: All general facilities are available in our campus such as Wi-Fi, library, labs, and all are well maintained and perform satisfactorily to help a student grow in their field. Talking about hostel infrastructure, it lags in some facilities. There is no common room for study and gaming instruments depend on hostel, in some hostels there is a playing area and in some hostels there is none. The mess is well maintained, but you can't expect home-like food.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and qualified and they are very knowledgeable in their field. Teaching quality depends on teacher; some teachers are just trying to complete their hours and some try hard to explain the concepts to students. The course syllabus is very relevant to industry standards. Semester exams are difficult, but if you solve past year papers and class notes, then you will pass the exam with good CGPA.

SVNIT focuses on developing better students surroundings and helps build a career in R&D.
Placements: Out of the deserving candidates who have passed the criteria of a 6.5 to 7.5 CGPA, almost 75% minimum of students get placed in campus placements. Companies like Nvidia, Samsung, BEL, JBL, JP Morgan, AMD, and SIEMENS come for placement offers. Placement recruitment starts from the 7th semester, however, many students who get internships through the college also get placed during and from the same company also.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very well. We have labs that can provide sessions for 40 students at a time. The library is the best place on campus, it has AC, comfortable chairs, and tables for group studies. Newspapers, journals, research papers, and every subject-related book are available in it. The canteen is currently under renovation and is expanding its area to handle the crowd. It has tasty food, drinks, soft dairy products, and packaged products. Hostels are clean and provide a good environment, with Wi-Fi in all over the campus.
Faculty: Teachers are very supportive and encouraging towards core subjects. They are mainly focused on research and development, so you get a deep level of study. However, some faculty members are boring, but they provide enough material so that you don’t lack knowledge. There are 2 exams MID and END semester, 2 quizzes, and 2 unit tests taken in one semester. The exam pattern is highly based on practical problems.
Other: The reason to choose this particular college is that it is among the top 7 NITs in the ECE branch, and you feel it is true as you get full support for ECE development. The college is also focused on civil and mechanical engineering, and they are growing rapidly. Events are very exciting. We have MINDBEND, a technical fest, which is the biggest tech fest in Gujarat, and SPARSH, a cultural fest. The fresher party and every festival are also celebrated on campus.

SVNIT is best ever college.
Placements: 80% of students got placed in my course (EC). In my course, the highest package is 32 LPA, and the lowest package is 3 LPA. The average package is 11 LPA. There are so many top recruiting companies that come to my college like Texas, Amazon, and Deloitte.
Infrastructure: There are so many labs and classrooms in my department. They are very clean and neat. The infrastructure is looking like a foreign institute. The library has the first rank for the biggest library in Gujarat. We get free Wi-Fi facility ever.
Faculty: Every faculty member has the first rank in their personal field. Every faculty member has on top. Obviously, the course makes students industry-ready. The exams of this college depend on faculty members. The pass percentage is minimum 5+ CGPA you have to get.
Other: The highest package is my course that's why I chose this and also I am interested in this. The course will be very hard in the 6th and 7th semesters. It should be divided into some subjects in the earlier semester. So, the loads will balance. Of course, the event will master blaster of my college. Every student just loved that. No one is there who doesn't like college fest. The culture events are Sparsh and technical event is Mindbend.

Review of SVNIT, Surat - A college with good placements and campus life.
Placements: Placements at my college are decent enough as per NITs. From 7-semester students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like Micron, GE Healthcare, Visa, MasterCard, and more visit our campus and offer 6 to 7 candidates depending on requirement. The highest package is 57 LPA in the CSE branch and 35 LPA in ECE branch. In CSE, placement percentage is 94% and in ECE it is 84%. I will go for college placements and will give government exams and GATE exams.
Infrastructure: Hostel is well-developed and good to stay. We have double rooms for B.Tech students and single rooms for Ph.D. and M.Tech students. We have more than 10 hostels for girls and boys. Every room has 2 beds, 2 student tables and chairs, and other things students have to arrange. There is one common toilet and bathroom (with geyser) with 24x7 electricity and water supply. Mess food is good with new food every day and special lunch on Sunday. Alternate Saturday, mess is off. Online portals are there for hostel room allotment and mess fee payment.
Faculty: The faculty-to-student ratio is 26:160. Faculty members are very educated and have done Ph.D. from reputed IITs and hold more than 30 years of teaching experience. I like Dr. Abhishek Aacharya sir because his teaching style is extraordinary and taught us analog electronics with excellent dedication. There are 2 quizzes (20 marks each), 1 mid-semester (30 marks), and 1 end semester (50 marks) exam, every semester with mini projects of 10 marks.
Other: Sparsh and Mindbend are the annual and technical festivals in my college organised in February. Our library has more than 80,000 books which can be accessed through library cars. Our classroom has smart boards and 2 projectors. Labs are equipped with up to date equipment. Cricket (Manoj Memorial Night Cricket Tournament and Inter NIT), football, basketball, volleyball, and other games are organised every year. NCC and NSS are very important and also departmental and robotics clubs are there. We have startup and incubation (Ashine) clubs also.

Q:   Does SVNIT accept Gujcet for admission to BTech?
    A:

No, candidates can't take admission at SVNIT, based on the GUJCET score. They need to take JEE Mains exam and get a good score to secure a seat at SVNIT Surat. The 2022 CSAB closing round for BTech CSE was 7807, which was competitive.

Q:   How is SVNIT for BTech?
    A:

The average package that the SVNIT BTech students secured in 2020, 2021 and 2022 are INR 13.32 LPA, INR 14.18 LPA and INR 15.22 LPA respectively. And the total tuition fee for BTech at SVNIT is INR 5 lakh. Considering the total tuition fee and the package secured this seems like a good return on investment. For job placements, companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Mastercard, Capgemini, JP Morgan, Airtel, L&T, and many more come to the campus.

Q:   What is the cutoff for BTech at SVNIT Surat for OBC category?
    A:

SVNIT Surat BTech cutoff 2023 for Electronics & Communication Engineering was 5533 for OBC category. While the admissions are based on the scores/rank obtained in JEE Main, the last cut offs also change a lot depending on All India quota or Home State. It also varies if the applicant is a female.

In SVNIT, computer engineering and mechanical engineering are good. If you have taken ECE and have good coding skills, then you can get the best placement. For ECE branch, very few companies visit the campus. Very few chances to get a job in companies like Google.
