It is an average private college in West Bengal.

Placements: No placement statistics are provided directly by the college to the students, nor is the NIRF data available on their website. However, the college claims to have a 90% placement rate in the Computer Science and Information Technology departments, with an overall placement percentage of over 60%. Most of the good placements are achieved off-campus, and it depends on one's skills. Mainly service-based companies like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, etc., are said to visit the campus, along with some good companies like Amazon. The average package ranges from 3 LPA to 5 LPA overall and maybe 6 LPA to 7 LPA for higher branches.

Infrastructure: The college campus is spread across an area of 3 acres and is situated in the Salt Lake area, which is a hub for IT companies in Kolkata. Techno India University is also present on the campus, along with Techno Main Salt Lake. There are two small playgrounds where students can play, but competitive leagues are held on fields outside the college. Four canteens are present inside the campus, and the infrastructure facilities are average. No hostel is available in the college, so students have to live in PGs near the college on their own. Overall, the college is not very fascinating.

Faculty: I am in the second semester of my college. The Ph.D. professors are quite professional and experienced in their subjects, and they try their best to help students gain in-depth knowledge. However, some professors are not so good. The professors are helpful, especially during lab work. Since our college is under MAKAUT and not autonomous, our semester exams are held and checked by MAKAUT officials. The exams are above the moderate level, and the pass percentage varies every year. However, I find that the curriculum is a bit outdated and not very industry-relevant, which needs to be changed.

Other: Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning is a relatively new branch introduced in our college to meet industry demand. As far as I have heard, placements in the AIML branch are good, and the highest package came from this branch. I wish the college would upgrade the curriculum to meet industry demands. Otherwise, everything is good. There is no distinct campus life here, but one can experience city life with the metro, big buildings, and food outlets nearby. Fests are organized by the clubs in the college.

I am absolutely dissatisfied because of the faculty members and their teaching quality.

Placements: 50% of students got placed last year with the highest package of 20 LPA. The average package ranges from 7-8 LPA. Top recruiting companies that visited our campus are TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, Capgemini, etc. 20-30% of students got internships but the maximum of them are unpaid.

Infrastructure: Classrooms are okay. Wi-Fi is not working inside the campus, and it is so hard to connect to the mobile internet. Hostel facility is only provided for the first year students but the condition of the hostel is so poor. I knew it very well because I used to stay there for 2 months.

Faculty: Some teachers are helpful while some are so annoying. They are just worried about the completion of the syllabus. Semester exams and internal exams are tough because they give the notice of the exams just one day prior to the exams. Questions can come even from outside the syllabus, and they do not give sufficient marks to each answer.

Good placement in 2024 and good faculty members.

Placements: AIML is the new batch in Techno Main Salt Lake, and this year is the first batch to pass out and get placements from the college, either in or out of campus. The maximum package is 64 lakh per annum from outside of the campus, and the average package has been 5 to 6 lakh.

Infrastructure: There is no hostel facility in Techno Main Salt Lake. But the college facility is average, the classrooms are good but not bad, and the Wi-Fi facility is also available in our college. The library of Techno Main is small and not better, and the labs of my college are good. There are regular lab classes in a week. Overall, the average value of my college is average.

Faculty: The faculty members are very good and have much experience. Many of the teachers got their degrees from IITs and NITs. Our course is a good course in my college, the seniors are helpful and smart, and the department members are very smart. The semester exam is not tough if the preparation is good. If you have proper knowledge from your books and classes, then you will pass, and the passing marks are just only 40 out of 100 in each subject.

Other: This course is CSE specialization AIML, and this is a very good course for the upcoming future, as I think, and the package will also rise. The fest is overall good, and the sports activities are also very good, with a good crowd in the college activities.

My honest review on 'Techno Main Salt Lake'.

Placements: Approximately all the students get a good placement. I have no idea about what percent of students got internships, but I have talked to many seniors, and they said that students have many opportunities for internships. The average package in placement is 8 Lacs.

Infrastructure: The college provides Wi-Fi in every class and lab. All books are available in the library. Classrooms are also good, and some classrooms have AC. The college doesn't have hostels, but they have tied up with some PG (paying guest) accommodations, which they commonly call their hostel. Canteens are also available, and the quality is good. The college has two fields where different sports take place, like cricket, football, etc.

Faculty: Teachers are good and supportive. Faculty is very supportive. If you have any concern, they will solve it immediately. Semester exams are not that easy. If you haven’t studied your modules properly, it will be difficult to answer the questions, but the questions are from the modules and what the teacher has taught in the class.

Other: Everything is good, but there are some things the college has to improve, like Wi-Fi strength, and not all classes are air-conditioned. Some of them are air-conditioned.

About TMSL. Things you should know!

Placements: 50% are placed. The highest up to 1 crore. Average 5 LPA. TCS is the top recruiter. Software engineer role. Good college. You can join. It gives students very much freedom. You can do anything you want while being in college, like participating in hackathons, cultural or sports-related things.

Infrastructure: Labs are very good, up-to-date, and clean. Classrooms are average. The library is a bit noisy, but many books are available there. You can take books for a whole semester to your home using the library card. Sports and cultural events also happen in this college. A lot of clubs are there with different visions.

Faculty: Faculty members are the best if you can grab the opportunity. Technical Assistants are very helpful. The exam system is also very good. With proper self-study and faculty guidance, you can get good marks. Grooming classes are taken to make you industry-ready.
