To appear in the CEED exam, the candidate must have passed a degree, Diploma, or postgraduate degree exam of minimum three years. There is no limit on the upper age limit or number of attempts for appearing in CEED.

How will CEED cut-off used to shortlist candidates and what is the formula?

Formula to determine CEED shortlisting criteria is µ + (σ 2) = δ, where µ and σ are average marks and standard deviation of distribution of marks obtained by all candidates in Part-A of CEED. µ and σ will be rounded off after first decimal place. Candidates belonging to reserved categories shall have to fulfill a relaxed cut-off mark. It will be 0.9 for EWS 0.5 for SC/ST 0.5 for PwD

Can I prepare for CEED exam without coaching?

It is possible to prepare for CEED without coaching. But before you start on exam preparation on your own, you need the conviction that you can do it. If you are not convinced yourself and only decide to forgo coaching on the advice of others, the journey may be difficult. If you prepare for the exam on your own, you need to be serious and plan the preparation smartly. Go through the syllabus. You must be able to decide the difficulty level, the time it will take to cover the syllabus, and revise.

The CEED score is valid for a period of one year from the date of declaration of the result. This means you can use CEED scores for admission in the current academic session only. You can't use for admission in the next year.

How much time is needed to prepare for the CEED 2027 exam?

In an ideal situation, a candidate will need around 6 months to prepare CEED exam. It is because with enough time in hand, he will be able to go through each topic and also take time to understand the concepts. But if there is less time, then one need to solve previous year questions paper, take mock test and study topics which are not very difficult. Candidates must go through the syllabus and pattern. To start with, be judicious with your time and prepare meticulously.

Reaction 1: Ayushi and Saumya, who appeared in the CEED exam, the question paper was engaging as the questions were set in such a manner that students could get involved in every manner and get a good boost to move on to the next question.

Reaction 2: The difficulty level was moderate and part B was a bit difficult. The second question, which was human-animal interaction using the blocks mentioned in the question paper was a bit on the trickier side.

Reaction 3: Another student said that the question paper was lengthy and a few questions had printing errors, so she had to wait for it to get rectified. The paper was difficult and time-consuming.

CEED Analysis 2021

Most of the students who took the CEED 2021 exam found CEED 2021 to be easy to moderate in terms of difficulty level. The test paper was similar to past years' papers. Part B of the exam comprised easy questions and the time was sufficient to solve the paper.

CEED Analysis 2020

Around 8,000 students took the CEED 2020 exam. Most students who took the exam shared that the difficulty level of questions was low compared to past years' papers.

Similar to what students shared, Design Experts also shared that CEED 2020 was easier than last year's paper. Part A of the exam mainly had aptitude questions and the drawing questions asked in Part B were interesting to attempt.

Drawing questions asked in Part B paper were:

4	A normal toothbrush was given, the student had to identify the problems faced by using this toothbrush
5	Random lines were given in ten boxes (all lines were the same) out of these lines, one had to visualise and draw everyday products from them

CEED Analysis 2019

Overall CEED 2019 paper had the same difficulty level as previous year's paper and was pretty straightforward. The range of topics covered was as expected; however, there was a difference in the mix of questions asked.

CEED Analysis 2018

CEED Part A was of 100 marks. It was divided into 5 sections. CEED Part B was a drawing test and had 8 questions.

Questions numbered 1 to 5 were optional. Students have to answer one question out of five. Total marks of these questions were 50 marks. The marks of the last three questions were 20 marks. These questions were mandatory for all students.

CEED Analysis 2017

MCQs had a negative marking of 0.6 marks for every wrong answer, while unanswered questions did not fetch any marks nor incur any penalty. The deviation from last year was that this year the NAT did not have any negative marks.

Overall, the paper was a little difficult and the branch-specific questions were lengthy compared to previous years’ papers. While Part A contained difficult aptitude questions, Part B comprised even tougher concept-building and sketching questions. Also, many candidates were expecting a full length of 50 marks for the sketching questions and had practiced a lot for it, but were highly disappointed when such questions carried only 20 marks, and that too had a choice of two.

IIT Bombay released the scorecard for the CEED 2027 exam on March 10, 2027. It is released on the website of CEED.

So, if you don't meet Part A cut-off marks, you will not get shortlisted and you Part B answer booklets will not be evaluated. Also, note that only shortlisted candidates will be assigned a merit rank in CEED 2027.

Q: Are CEED eligibility criteria the same as those required by the participating colleges?

The candidate must note that IIT Bombay is only responsible for conducting the CEED Entrance exam. Unlike UCEED, it will not conduct any Joint Seat Allotment.

This means the eligibility criteria prescribed by IIT Bombay are limited to appearing in the CEED exam. Further, the participating institutes of CEED will individually determine the eligibility criteria for the M.Des courses. The eligibility criteria will be uploaded on the admission portals of these institutes.
