CEED Exam Analysis 2025 - IIT Bombay conducted the CEED 2025 exam on January 19, 2025 (9 am - 12 noon). The exam was held in 27 cities across the country.
We bring you the CEED 2025 exam analysis. Shikhsa representatives did live coverage of the CEED 2025 exam. The exam analysis covers sectional and overall difficulty, types of questions asked, expected cut-off, and good attempts.
The CEED 2025 exam had two papers - 1) Computer-based Part A, and 2) Offline-based Part B.
It was mandatory for the candidate to qualify Part A, or else Part B answer booklets would not be evaluated.
The cut-off marks for CEED 2025 will be released after the exam.

My name is Shankar, I appeared for CEED. The exam was not difficult, especially if you have appeared in the exam before. There were no technical glitches during the exam. I have no idea about the expected cutoff.

Anika, appearing for the CEED exam, said that the overall difficulty level was moderate. The paper was all about time management. The sections were all easy. A few pattern-based questions were asked. I expect the cut-off to be around 50.

My name is Megha and I appeared in the CEED 2025 exam. There were not many difficult questions that were being asked in the exam. To answer the questions, the candidate needed to do some thinking. There were one question about a bear that was scaring two small kids.
CEED 2025 Exam Analysis Video
The difficulty level of CEED exam has been maintained by authorities over the years. However, most design aspirants share that if difficulty level of all design entrance exams conducted for PG level courses is compared then CEED is slightly easier than NID Entrance Exam. This is primarily because the drawing questions asked in NID that are considered to be tougher than those put forth in CEED exam. Note that CEED exam is for admission to the M.Des courses offered by the eight participating colleges. Meanwhile, the NID that for the M.Des programme has three participating colleges.
You can start preparing for CEED exam by following the below steps.
- Understand CEED exam pattern and syllabus well.
- CEED syllabus has been revised for both Part A and Part B.
- IIT Bombay will release the detailed exam pattern when it releases the information brochure, sometime in September.
- Make a well thought-out timetable for CEED preparation
- Practice as many CEED previous year question papers and sample papers as possible
- Take notes when you are studying.
- Find your weak areas for exam and work to improve those areas/subjects
- Take mock tests.
CEED 2024 Exam Analysis
Ayushi and her friend Saumya felt that the CEED question paper was engaging as the questions challenged the candidate. They found the difficulty level of the exam to be moderate, while Part B was a bit difficult. A question was asked on human-animal interaction that used the blocks. It was a bit on the trickier side, they said.
According to another test taker, the question paper was lengthy. The candidate also said that few questions had printing errors which meant they had to wait for it to get rectified. The paper was difficult and time-consuming. The difficulty level of the question which included a human-animal interaction using blocks was difficult.
CEED Answer Key 2025
IIT Bombay will release the draft answer key of CEED 2025 on January 21, 2025. The student response will also be released alongside the draft answer key. The candidate can download the draft key from the CEED admission portal.
Calculate probable scores using the daft answer key in tandem with the response sheet. Follow the CEED exam pattern when calculating scores.
The candidate can file objections against the draft key till January 23, 2025 (5 pm). Candidates can submit objections using the master answer key.
The CEED 2025 final answer key will be released on January 29, 2025.
Declaration of Results - The results of the UCEED 2025 exam will be declared on March 5, 2025. The result will be released for all candidates appearing in the exam; however, merit ranks will be released for candidates who meet the Part A cut-off.

UCEED 2026 application form is to be filled by candidates seeking admission to the B. Des programme. Also, UCEED 2026 scores are not considered for admission to the M.Des programme. So, the candidates must instead fill out the application form for CEED 2026. Note that both the CEED and UCEED exams

The qualifying cut-off is the minimum marks a candidate needs to score in the paper to get shortlisted. Part B answer booklets will only be evaluated if the candidate gets shortlisted.
So, if you don't meet Part A cut-off marks, you will not get shortlisted and you Part B answer booklets will not be

IIT Roorkee doesn't offer PhD in Design course through CEED. It only offers a MDes in Industrial Design. Admission to the M.Des programme will be based on CEED 2026 merit rank. The candidate will have to apply directly to the participating college once results are declared.

The candidate must note that IIT Bombay is only responsible for conducting the CEED Entrance exam. Unlike UCEED, it will not conduct any Joint Seat Allotment.

No, IIT Bombay will not send the hard copies of CEED 2026 Scorecard. The scorecard of CEED will be issued only in online mode. The candidate has to download it from the CEED admission portal - ceed.iitb.ac.in. To download the scorecard, log in by entering your email id and password.

Score card of CEED 2026 will be issued to all candidates who will appear in CEED 2926 exam. So, even if you have failed to qualify Part A, you can download the scorecard.

Since CEED is a general aptitude test, you can benefit greatly by practicing previous year question papers. Also, after practicing the papers, it is highly important to analyse your strong and weak areas for the exam and then work on them accordingly.
But that being said, you can’t prepare for the CEED only on the strength of solving the sample papers. You need to read the text books to learn the concepts, understand the various dynamic. Note that unless your theoretical knowledge is sound, you won’t be able to feel truly confident.
