A 3000 rank is not good, but can be said to be a decent rank. The chances of getting a top-tier college if you are of General Category are very low. This is because the cutoff for the top NIFT Campuses, like NIFT Delhi, NIFT Mumbai, NIFT Kolkata, is very high, and the admission closes at around 1000 rank.

NIFT counselling will begin in July 2026. Every design student wants to pursue their studies at NIFT institutes. But this is not that easy, it all depends upon your rank, score and category. Read on to find out if you will be able to make it to NIFT colleges if your rank is in the 3000s.

Is 3000 Rank Good for NIFT 2026?

Is 3000 Rank Good for NIFT 2026?

The answer to the question," Is a 3000 Rank Good for NIFT 2026?" is that a 3000 rank is not good, but can be said to be a decent rank. The chances of getting a top-tier college if you are of General Category are very low. This is because the cutoff for the top NIFT Campuses, like NIFT Delhi, NIFT Mumbai, NIFT Kolkata, is very high, and the admission closes at around 1000 rank. However, you will be able to make it to tier 2 colleges of NIFT or new NIFT colleges like NIFT RaeBareli, Shillong, Srinagar or Kangra. But there are still chances of getting a top NIFT Institute with a certain specialisation if a seat remains vacant in the other rounds of NIFT Counselling. If you belong to other categories, like OBC, SC, ST, PwD, the chances of getting a top NIFT college are good.

There is no fixed number of mock tests one should take before the NIFT Entrance Exam. A candidate should take at least one mock test daily for the NIFT Entrance Preparation. 10-15 mock tests will really help in preparing for the exam.
