NIFT Exam Admit Card 2026: Date, Hall Ticket Link, City Intimation Slip and Reporting Time

NIFT Application 2026 is expected to open anytime now in November 2025. NIFT 2026 Application forms and Notifications can be out anytime now for B.Des, M.Des, B.F. Tech, M.F.Tech, and M.F.M programmes. The application form will be released at  @nift.ac.in. The NIFT entrance exam application form is the same for all courses. The application fee for NIFT will be around INR 3,000 (INR 1500 for SC, ST, and PwD categories). No, NIFT Admit card will not be sent by email or post. Candidates have to download the admit card from admission portal of National Institute of Fashion Technology. To download the admit card, click on the admit card download link and log in by entering your credentials. 

Along with NIFT 2026 admit card, you must bring with you a valid photo ID proof. The photo ID proof can be any of the following documents Aadhaar Card, Passport, Driving License, School or College ID Card or Voter ID. Candidates who fail to bring the mandatory documents will not be allowed to take the exam. Note that the candidate is also recommended to carefully go through the guidelines mentioned on the NIFT 2026 admit card. This will help the candidate stay out of trouble on exam day. For instance, the admit card will contain guidelines on what items to carry and not to carry to the exam center.

The NIFT 2026 admit card for the Situation Test will be released around the 3rd week of March 2026. Meanwhile, admit cards for the Personal Interview will be released around the 3rd week of March 2026. Admit cards will be released to shortlisted candidates who had completed the slot booking/ campus selection process. The National Institute of Fashion Technology will release the slot booking schedule soon after the declaration of results for the NIFT written exams. All candidates who get shortlisted can book their slots. The NIFT exam is among the competitive and is also considered among the toughest. So, it is recommended that the candidate starts their exam preparation early. NIFT exam has various components like written exam and Situation Test /Personal Interview. Candidates seeking admission to the B. Des and M.Des courses need to prepare for both the CAT and GAT. The CAT is a drawing-based exam. Now unless the candidate is already well-versed, the exam will be very difficult. So, start early. The same goes for the GAT.

•  If the admit card is released, then the admit card download link will be displayed on the page
•  Click on the admit card download link
• You will be redirected to a log-in window
• Enter application number and date of birth
• On log-in, you can view and download the NIFT admit card
•  Download and take a printout of the admit card.

The name, photography and signature, NIFT  roll number, name and address of the NIFT exam centre, Exam timings, including exam date, Exam centre code, Reporting time, Exam-day guidelines. The Situation Test/ Personal Interview (PI) are the 2nd stage of the NIFT 2026 entrance exam. Candidates were shortlisted for the Situation Test/ PI based on the NIFT 2026 written exam scores.

Note that if the candidate fails to qualify for the 2nd stage, he or she is not considered for admission to various design courses offered by the NIFTs.

The only exception is B.F.Tech program, where the merit list for admission will be prepared solely on the basis of GAT scores.

In the case of other courses, the merit list will be prepared by giving weightage to the written exams and Situation Test/ PI.

On the day of the NIFT exam, candidates must bring the following items with them NIFT 2026 admit card, a valid photo id proof, HB Pencil, eraser, sharpener, and dry colours.

Items that are not allowed inside the exam venue are water bottle, papers, notes, Books, calculator, electronic gadgets, mobile phone, bag, handbagand correction marker/ white fluid.

Please note that entry to the NIFT 2025 exam centre will be closed 30 minutes before the commencement of the exam. 

Yes, the candidate is allowed to challenge the draft version of the NIFT 2026 answer key.

Objections cannot be filed against the the final answer key. The provisional answer key will be released in February 2026; note that the NIFT written exam will be conducted around the 1st week of February 2026.

The answer key contains the official keys to all the questions asked in the exam.

Objections against the NIFT 2026 answer key has to filed online through the candidate portal. To file objections, the candidate had to pay a fee of INR 500 per objection.

NIFT admit card is a mandatory document to appear in the design entrance exam. Candidates need to positively carry their valid admit card for NIFT Entrance Exam to their test centre, otherwise they will not be allowed to appear for the design entrance exam. Note that the security personnel at the exam centre will check the documents carried by the candidate, including the admit and photo id cards. In fact, the candidate must safely preserve the admit card until the admission process is over. It is because the candidate may be asked to produce the admit card during the counseing and seat-allotment process.

The admit card for the NIFT 2026 exam has to be downloaded online from the NTA NIFT admission portal - exams.nta.ac.in/NIFT. In.

Note that hard copies of the admit card will not be sent to the candidate.

So, the candidate needs to log-in to the admit card download portal using their log-in details and download the admit card pdf. After downloading the admit card, the candidate needs to take a printout. On the day of the exam, the candidate will have to display the admit card along with a valid photo id proof in the original. No candidate will be allowed inside the exam venue without the admit card.

Also, note that digital copies of the admit card will not be accepted.

The GAT paper for all the B.Des and M.Des courses will be conducted from 9 am - 11 am (tentatively). Meanwhile, the GAT written exam for B.F.Tech, M.F.Tech, and M.F.M. courses are expected to be conducted from 9 am - 12 noon.

Candidates needed to report to the NIFT 2026 exam centre at least an hour in advance.

Note that the CAT paper for the B. Des and M.Des courses will be held from 2.30 pm - 5.30 pm.

The purpose of reporting early is to complete admission formalities, including registration, frisking, verifying the identity of the candidate, etc. Note that the exam timings and reporting time for the NIFT exam will be mentioned in the admit card.
