JEE Main: Overview
JEE Main is an exam conducted at national level for admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. Additionally, it is also qualifying exam for IITs, as top rankers in JEE Main must clear JEE Advanced for final admission.
By clearing JEE Main, candidates get admission to undergraduate and integrated postgraduate programmes. National Testing Agency conducts JEE Main, while JEE Advanced is conducted by different IIT each year.

A total of 160 questions will be asked in Andhra Pradesh EAMCET 2026. All questions will be multiple choice questions. Physics and Chemistry will have 40 questions each. Mathematics will include 80 questions. Each correct answer will be given 1 mark.
No, there is no negative marking in Andhra Pradesh EAMCET exam. For every correct answer one mark is given. There is no marks reduced for incorrect responses or unanswered questions. This applies to both engineering and agriculture streams of exam.

JEE Main, AP EAMCET: Similarities and Differences
AP EAMCET is conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada (JNTUK) on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) once a year. JEE Main is conducted twice a year. The highest score among the two exams is considered the final result. The number of candidates applying for JEE Main is much higher than AP EAMCET.
In both exams, questions are asked from the same subjects, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, but the weightage differs. In JEE Main, the weightage given is the same for all three subjects, whereas in AP EAMCET, the weightage given for mathematics is twice the weightage given for Physics and Chemistry.
JEE Main has an eligibility limit of three consecutive years starting from Class 12, whereas AP EAPCET does not have an upper age limit.
AP EAPCET rank card provides marks, rank, and qualification status, while JEE Main scorecards display percentile scores for each subject and overall percentile.

To qualify for Andhra Pradesh EAMCET, expected cutoff for the general categories is 40 marks out of 160. There is no minimum qualifying mark for SC/ST categories. They are usually expected to score around 30-35 marks to qualify in Andhra Pradesh EAMCET.
