IIT Bombay MTech Admission 2020: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay released the application form for MTech admission 2020 on March 18. The last date to fill the IIT MTech application form was May 18, 2020.

Admission to MTech courses at IIT Bombay will be on the basis of the GATE 2020 score. Students need to score marks more than the GATE 2020 cutoff to be eligible for IIT Bombay MTech admission 2020. Students will be needed to fill the online application form on the institute’s official website and after that they need to register for Common Offer Admission Portal (COAP) and fill the choices of institutes.

The allotment of seats will be done on the basis of candidates’ GATE 2020 score in the order of merit, as per the choices filled and admission policies. IIT Bombay MTech Admission Process

Admission to MTech courses at IIT Bombay is offered on the basis of GATE score. Students have to appear and qualify GATE with a valid score to be considered for admission to the institute. The institute also conducts separate written tests and/or personal interviews in addition to the GATE score for admission in few courses. The detailed admission process is as below:

Step-1: Fill the online application form of IIT Bombay MTech admission 2020

Step-2: Register for COAP 2020

Step-3: Check allotment status as per the COAP seat allotment schedule

Step-4: Login to IIT Bombay candidate portal for admission status/ schedule of written test and/or interview

Step-5: Complete the further admission process as per instructions on IIT Bombay portal

IIT Bombay MTech Admission: Eligibility Criteria

Students must check the eligibility criteria prescribed by the IIT Bombay for admission to MTech courses:

  • Candidate must have passed BTech or its equivalent degree from any recognised institute
  • Candidates must have obtained 60% marks in aggregate in their qualifying degree (55% for candidates of reserved category)
  • Candidates appearing in the final year of their qualifying degree are also eligible to apply for IIT Bombay MTech admission
  • Candidates having qualified the examination of associate members of the following institutes are also eligible to appear
    • Institute of Chemical Engineers
    • Institution of Engineers
    • Aeronautical Society of India
    • Institute of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineers
    • Indian Institutes of Metals

IIT Bombay MTech Admission: Eligibility Criteria for IIT Graduates

Students who have passed their qualifying degree from any of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and have a valid GATE score are eligible for direct admission to IIT Bombay. However, such students are required to appear for institute level written test and/or personal interview if admission is desired in TA/TAP/FA/RA/RAP/PS/IS/SW courses.

IIT Bombay MTech Admission Test 2020

Students who will apply for admission to MTech in IIT Bombay are required to qualify the written test and/or interview apart from GATE. Every applicant has to appear in the test on the provided date and time. Students have to qualify the test with minimum qualifying marks decided by the institute in order to be considered for admission in IIT Bombay.

Documents required for appearing in written test/interview

Candidates appearing for the written test and/or interview are required to carry the following documents:

  • A hard copy of the submitted online application form
  • Admit card for appearing in the test
  • Valid Photo ID
  • Copy of certificates/mark sheets

IIT Bombay MTech Admission Test Result 2020

The result of the admission test will be released online on the official website of the institute. The institute will release a pdf mentioning the list of selected candidates and informing the further admission process which needs to be followed.
