Abhijit Patil, a mechanical engineering student of IIT Bombay explained what deferred placement is, how he convinced his parents to try his hands at entrepreneurship & also spoke about his 3D printing & scanning venture.

We started off finding information about deferred placement being offered at IITs and got talking to Abhijit Patil, a mechanical engineering student of IIT Bombay who explained to us what this new initiative undertaken by IIT Bombay Placement Cell is all about and why he applied for the same.

Abhijit shared that since he comes from a small town, it was not easy for him to convince his parents that he wanted to try his hands at entrepreneurship. But it is only because of deferred placement that they allowed him to follow his passion.

Abhijit, a highly passionate IIT Bombay student is working in the field of 3D Printing and 3D Scanning. His future plan is to be a complete solution provider in the field of 3D Printing & 3D Scanning. What’s more – Abhijit works hard to keep his clients happy by providing them overnight delivery of 3D printing services and that is the reason why many IIT Bombay students and even professors are his clients.

They often say that if there is a will, there is a way and this boy from Malegaon, along with his partners, is working on developing India’s first photogrammetry based 3D scanner rig in Mumbai.

This extremely focused student of IIT Bombay shared that his vision to work in a startup was to create employment for India and he has dedicated his life for this cause. So, even if he isn’t successful in the first go, he’ll never give up.

Abhijit further advised students who wanted to become entrepreneurs by saying that “The time is now or never”. He further shared that, “If you have an idea jump on it, execute it, take calculated risk and come into the market as soon as possible. Use this time for your passion as this time will not come again”.
