Increase in number of JEE Main sessions in 2021

Earlier this month, the NTA has increased the total number of JEE Main exam attempts to four instead of two within a year. This will give a privilege to candidates to improve their scores if they fail to give their best in the first attempt. This will save the entire year of the student who is willing to take admission in one of IITs in India.

The JEE Main 2021 is being held in February, March, April, and May. The JEE Main first session was held February 23 to 26. If a candidate decides to appear in all the four sessions of the exam, the authorities will consider his/her best NTA scores for preparation of merit list/ranking and counselling process. Also, in case one of the JEE Main 2021 exam clashes with the board exam 2021, then students can appear for the JEE Main exam in the next session.

Changes in JEE Main 2021 registration process

As we all know that the NTA JEE Main 2021 exam will be held in four sessions, candidates can apply for one session (February) or more than one session (March /April /May) together and pay exam fee accordingly.

If a candidate is applying just for the February session, the one is required to pay JEE Main application fee only for that particular session. Candidates can apply for other sessions (March/ April / May), when the application window will be reopened again by the exam conducting authority.

In case, a candidate has performed well in his/her first (February) attempt and does not want to appear in the next Session (March/April/May) for which fee has already been paid, it will be refunded by the NTA.

JEE Main 2021 to be available in 13 languages

The NTA has introduced another major change that has been made this year that is the decision to conduct the JEE Main 2021 exam in regional languages. The exam would be conducted in 13 languages including English, Hindi and Urdu and regional languages.

The newly introduced languages in the list are Assamese for Assam; Gujarati for Gujarat, Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli; Bengali for West Bengal, Tripura and Andaman and Nicobar Island.

Here, all the students must select the regional language option at the time of JEE Main registration process. Also, the exam city and regional language options are related. Hence, students may choose the exam city carefully.
