JEE Main 2025 Thermodynamics Question

A polyatomic molecule ( C V = 3 R , C P = 4 R , where  R  is the gas constant) goes from phase space point  A ( P A = 10 5 Pa , V A = 4 × 10 6 m 3 ) to point  B ( P B = 5 × 10 4 Pa , V B = 6 × 10 6 m 3 ) to point  C ( P C = 10 4 Pa , V C = 8 × 10 6 m 3 ).  A to  B is an adiabatic path and  B  to  C  is an isothermal path. Calculate the net heat absorbed per unit mole by the system.

Q:   What type of questions are asked in JEE Main?
A:

Questions in the JEE Main exam are of two types

Multiple choice questions - Each question will have 4 options with only 1 correct answer. Candidates have to select the correct answer out of the 4 available options.

Numerical Ability Question - In these type of questions, no options are provided. Candidates have to solve the question and write its answer using keyword and mouse. Answer to these questions will be a numerical value.

Q:   How many questions are asked in JEE Main exam?
A:

As per the current JEE Main pattern, the Paper 1 exam have a total of 75 questions, 25 each from Physics Chemistry and Mathematics. Out of 25 questions, 20 are multiple choice questions and 5 are questions with numerical value answers. Students need to answer all 5 numerical value type questions. Also, all 20 multiple-choice questions are compulsory and no choice is provided in them. Students need to complete all the 75 questions in 3 hours. The total marks of JEE Main exam is 300.

Q:   What is the weightage of chapters in JEE exam?
A:
Physics- 1. Optics 2. Magnetism mixed with mechanics 3. Rotational dynamics 4. Heat and thermodynamics 5 experiments and errors Chemistry - 1. Inorganic Chemistry (most scoring) 2. Organic chemistry 3. Atomic structure (one question for sure) 4. Equilibrium Mathematics - 1. Coordinate geometry (most important parabola) 2. Calculus (application of derivatives most important) 3. Trignometry (was the toughest for me) Most of the questions are usually asked from these topics. Getting a good hold of these topics can get you rank under 1000 in JEE adv. Hope this helps.
Q:   Which topics are most important in JEE Main Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics?
A:

Students who are preparing for JEE Main exam are advised to first cover the entire JEE Main syllabus. Covering only the high weightage chapters would decrease their chances of getting full/high score in JEE Main exam. Only after covering the entire syllabus, students can check most important chapters for JEE Mains.

Q:   Do I need to attempt all the questions in JEE Main exam?
A:

NO, it is compulsory to attempt all questions in the JEE Main exam. The JEE Main exam has negative marking and candidates must answer only those questions for which they know the correct answer. Students must note that there are no minimum marks in JEE Main that students need to score. Students gets All India Rank based on the marks they secure in exam and gets admission based on that rank.

Q:   Where can I download JEE Main 2025 April 2 Shift 1 and 2 question paper pdf with solutions?
A:

JEE Main 2025 April 2 question paper shift 1 & 2 will be available on Shiksha page after the exam is over. Various coching institutes will release the JEE Mains April Session 2025 question paper with solutions based on students feedback who are appearing in the exam.
