MHT CET Percentile Marks Converter 2026

MHT CET Percentile Marks Converter 2026: There is no exact formula that a candidate can use to convert their MHT CET marks into a percentile. This is because a percentile is a relative value, unlike a percentage. The Maharashtra State CET cell does provide the formula that they use to calculate the MHT CET percentile score. But there are some variables of the formula that are not available for us to calculate the percentile out of the raw scores. For example, the number of candidates appearing in your shift who have lower marks than you will not be known to you. Neither will you have the total number of candidates who appeared in your shift. These variables are necessary for the MHT CET percentile marks converter 2026.

Note that from 2026 onwards, MHT CET 2026 will be held twice a year. It is likely that the best percentile score of the candidates who appear in both sessions will be used for admission. More details on the MHT CET 2026 result preparation and percentile calculation for the two sessions of the exams will be available soon at cetcell.mahacet.org.

What is MHT CET Percentile 2026?

Percentile scores are scores based on the relative performance of all the candidates who appear for the MHT CET exam. Basically, the marks obtained are transformed into a scale ranging from 100 to 0 for the whole examination conducted in a single shift using a single question paper for all the candidates.

The MHT CET percentile score indicates the percentage of the candidates who have appeared for MHT CET and who have scored EQUAL TO OR BELOW (same or lower raw scores) in that examination. Therefore, the topper (highest score) of MHT CET in each shift will get the same Percentile of 100.

MHT CET Percentile Marks Converter 2026

The MHT CET 2026 Percentile is calculated using the following formula:

MHT CET Percentile Marks Converter

MHT CET Percentile Marks Converter

The MHT CET 2026 percentile scores will be calculated up to 7 decimal places to avoid the bunching effect and reduce ties.

For example:

  • Total number of candidates in shift 1 of MHT CET 2026: 4520
  • Your raw score: 115
  • Number of candidates with marks less than you: 4400
  • Your MHT CET 2026 percentile = (100 X 4400) / 4520 = 97.3451327

This indicates you have performed better than 97.34% candidates in your shift.

Q:   I scored 120 in MHT CET. Which college will I get? I belong to the general category.
A:

With 120 marks in MHT-CET (General category), you are unlikely to get top colleges/branches (like CSE/IT in COEP, VJTI) but can aim for mid-tier private/university-affiliated colleges in less competitive branches.

Q:   What is the minimum cutoff required for admission to M.Tech at COEP?
A:

For the General HS category, the cutoff ranged from 4.33 to 20.54 percentile for M.Tech course specialisations. Therefore, students need to attain at least 4.33 percentile for admissions at COEP Pune. MHT CET M.Tech percentiles are required for admission to M.Tech courses at COEP, Pune.

Students should note that the above mentioned percentile is only valid for the General HS category in the last round. Other rounds and categories will have different minimum qualifying percentiles. To know more, students can click here

Q:   Which college will I get with 97.5 percentile in MH CET?
A:

With 97.5 percentile in MHT-CET, you have a strong chance to get admission in reputed colleges like PICT Pune, VIT Pune, SPIT Mumbai, or Thakur College of Engineering for branches such as IT, ECE, or Electrical. COEP and VJTI may be difficult for CSE. Government colleges like WCE Sangli, SGGS Nanded, and GCOE Amravati are also good options. You can get preferred branches in private colleges and core branches in government ones. Your chances further improve if you belong to a reserved category or have home university advantage within Maharashtra.

Q:   Which colleges can I get for engineering if I have 75 percentile in MHT CET via open category?
A:

Rank around 50k, some colleges are :

1. Government College of Engineering, Amravati

2. Government College of Engineering, Jalgaon

3. Prof. Ram Meghe Institute of Technology, Badnera

4. K. J. Somaiya Institute of Engineering and IT (less competitive branches)

5. Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering, Pune (non-core branches)

6. MIT Academy of Engineering, Pune (non-CSE branches)

Many private self-financing colleges throughout Maharashtra

Q:   Am I able to get admission in MH-CET college for B.Tech with 36 percentile?
A:

No, it is generally not possible to get the admission to B.Tech programme with 36% through MH-CET.

The minimum qualification marks for General Category are usually 45% and reseved categories, it is 40%.Though having only 36% cannot make the admission for the most of the colleges.

There are some colleges consider 12th grade marks as part of admission criteria with minimum percentage of typically ranging from 50% to 65%.

Q:   What is the MHT CET cutoff for admission to various courses?
A:

The MHT CET 2025 marks qualifying cutoffs are 90 for the general category and 80 for the reservation category out of 200. Cutoffs for top engineering branches differ from college to college; for example, Computer Engineering at COEP Pune requires scores of perhaps 160+ marks, while Mechanical might require around 135 for the same college. Other top colleges could require around 170–180 marks for CSE, whereas branches like Electrical might require something closer to 160. These are only indicative scores, according to previous years' trends, and may vary a bit every year
