A good reputation of any college/institution/university among education fraternity is very much needed as it helps in building credibility for a course and trust among the students. In addition to that, the reputation helps the institute to start new courses in collaboration with other universities from across the globe. More global collaborations also help the university/institute to improve its ranking and make a name among the top global academic institutions.
Placements & Research Opportunities
Though placements and research opportunities are two totally different aspects in the case of candidates aspiring to pursue MTech, both must be taken into consideration together. It is so, a majority opt for placement into the companies that help them to pursue research on the topic relevant to their stream. Placements leading to better research opportunities help the students to use their knowledge in developing innovative products/tools for mankind. Faculty Reputation

No, GATE questions are not exactly repeated. However, the concept, core, and question format may remain the same. Therefore, candidates must focus on concept-building and practice GATE PYQs as many times as possible. In addition, solve mock test paper to improve accuracy and time management.

Yes, GATE has negative marking for Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) only. In GATE question paper, MCQs will be of one and two marks. Hence, the marking scheme for such questions can be checked below -
- For one mark MCQ - 1/3rd mark will be deducted

The PhD admissions to the Institute Assistantship courses at IIT Guwahati require candidates to appear for the GATE or CEED.
