Cochin University is conducting the CUSAT CAT counselling for all the qualified candidates only. Eligible students have to participate in the counselling for B.Tech admission. The CUSAT CAT 2026 counselling comprises various steps such as registration, choice filling, seat allotment, verification and fee payment, etc. There are several rounds to fill in all vacant seats, apart from regular counselling rounds, including the CUSAT CAT BTech spot round.

Candidates must check the eligibility criteria before filling the CUSAT CAT application form. Only eligible candidates can apply for the test online.

CUSAT CAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit: The exam authority, CUSAT, does not specify the age limit to take the CUSAT CAT exam. Candidates from any age group can fill out the CUSAT CAT 2026 application form and subsequently participate in the counselling if they qualify for the entrance.

  • Secured 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in the Class 12 or equivalent from Kerala Board or any other recognized Board. 
  • Studied in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English in the qualifying examination. 
  • Secured a minimum 50% in the English subject either in Class 10 or in Class 12 (applicable to all the categories). 
  • Candidate should also qualify the CET (Common Entrance Test) conducted by Indian Maritime University (IMU).
  • Candidates have to submit physical fitness and eye fitness certificates as well. The certificate should be obtained from Medical Examiners and approved by DG Shipping. 

 

Naval Architecture & Ship Building 

  • Scored 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in the Class 12 examination or equivalent from Kerala Board or any other recognized Board. 
  • Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics should be the compulsory subjects along with the other subjects in the qualifying examination. 
  • Obtained 50% in the Mathematics subject. 
  • Must have scored 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics when taken together. 

Instrumentation & Technology 

  • Obtained 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics when taken together in the qualifying examination. 
  • Obtained 55% in the Mathematics subject. 

Polymer Science & Engineering 

  • Passed Class 12 with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry as an optional subject or any other equivalent examination with 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognized Board.  
  • Secured 50% in the Mathematics subject.

The Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) releases CUSAT CAT application form at admissions.cusat.ac.in. To apply for the exam, candidates have to complete registration, form-filling, document uploading and fee payment.
