AIBE (20) XX Syllabus 2025: The Bar Council of India (BCI) syllabus for the AIBE XX (20) 2025 has been released. It is the most important document for AIBE 20 aspirants.  AIBE will be held in 11 languages. As per AIBE 20 Exam Pattern , the question paper will carry a total of 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) based on 19 law topics/subjects. Candidates must note that there is no negative marking in the AIBE Examination. The AIBE 20 syllabus 2025 will help candidates identify the topics to prepare for the All India Bar Exam (AIBE). The AIBE syllabus 20 carries topic-wise weightage, which helps candidates to prepare for the highest-scoring topics. What is new in AIBE 2025 Syllabus?

There are some significant changes expected to be made in AIBE Syllabus compared to the previous year. The AIBE 20 (XX) Syllabus is likely to remain similar to the previous session, with a few minor revisions in the weightage and topics. The AIBE Exam 2025 Syllabus includes 19 law topics/subjects and candidates can expect 10 questions from Constitutional Law, 8 questions from Indian Penal Code (IPC), 10 questions from Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), legal maxims and so on.

It is important to note that the AIBE exam is not an open-book exam, and candidates are not allowed to carry textbooks, notes, or any written materials inside the exam hall. Here is a brief description of each topic included in the AIBE XX 2025 syllabus:

  • Law of Contract: It is one of the oldest mercantile laws in India that came into effect in 1872. Some of the important topics that candidates can prepare for this section include Types of Contracts, Essentials of a Contract, Legal Rules Regarding Consideration, etc.
  • Law of Tort: Few important topics to prepare for this section include Nature and Definition of Tort, Nuisance, Defamation, Consumer Protection, Remoteness of Damages, and so on
  • Public Interest Litigation: Commonly known as PIL, it means litigation filed in a court of law for the protection of public interest. Some of the important matters that candidates should be aware of include neglected children, food adulteration, atrocities on women, bonded labor, exploitation of workers, and environmental pollution. Here, candidates should also keep a track of some landmark cases and judgments taken by the Indian judiciary.  
  • Law-Related Taxation: Here, candidates should be aware of all aspects of tax law such as different types of taxes, tax reforms, etc.  
  • Intellectual Property Laws: Covers patents, trademarks, geographical indications, and Indian copyright law. 
  • Company Law: Covers various aspects of company law, including incorporation, management, and insolvency. 
  • Environmental Law: Covers laws related to environmental protection. 
  • Cyber Law: Covers laws related to cybercrime and technology.

AIBE 2025 Exam Pattern

The AIBE 20 (XX) exam pattern 2025-26 should be consulted along with the syllabus. While the syllabus outlines the necessary topics as well as their weightage, on the other hand, the AIBE 20 2025 Exam Pattern explains the mode of the exam, types of questions asked, marking scheme, etc.The offline-based AIBE Exam carries 100 objective-type questions. As per the revised AIBE Exam Pattern, AIBE is not an open-book exam. As per the new exam pattern, candidates are allowed to carry Bare Acts without notes.

Tips & Tricks To Crack AIBE 2025

Some of the other tips and tricks to keep in mind while preparing for AIBE  include:

  • Time management: Candidates should manage their time effectively while preparing for the exam. More time should be devoted to weaker subjects and a good amount of time should be left for revision and practicing of AIBE question papers.
  • Consistency: To clear the Bar exam in one go, candidates must be dedicated and consistent with their studies.
  • Notes: It is always helpful to create short notes while preparing for a topic. Candidates can refer to these notes at the time of revision. 
  • Tracking law cases and judgments: As per previous year paper analysis, few questions in the paper are asked from controversial and landmark law cases of past one year. Therefore, candidates appearing for the exam should keep important details of all such cases. 
  • Important topics: While preparing for the exam, candidates must start with the AIBE topics that hold maximum weightage in the exam. Final semester candidates of LLB without backlogs are eligible to apply for AIBE-20 exam. Because you are in 5th semester of LLB and AIBE 20 will be held in December 2025. So not eligible for AIBE 20.
